Despite the fact that if there is any reference in the media regarding the excess of modern football in this country 9 times out of 10 there is still a picture of Roman attached to it....

I am really enjoying not being the centre of attention, unlike

Man City Robinho

Man City Money

Tottenham

Hull

Newcastle

Arsenal

Cheats

Refs

then.. us .. sometimes .. ;) I prefer it, hopefully we can go quitely onwards towards the title from here !

Yup agree with that mate. There are so many clubs imploding, big money men looking to get their own football club and officials having shockers that between these stories boring old Chelsea have fallen out of the media spotlight somewhat.

Really quite refreshing, as I never can help getting wound up by the anti-Chelsea crap, particularly when it is often from bitter journos and based on very dubious sources or erroneous statistics, so let's hope the unintentional amnesty keeps on going.

We can thank LFS for a lot of the change in press coverage. They can't find a bad word to say about him and in fact he's actually pretty damned popular with the press.

Yes, definately.

Scolari's currently doing a very fine job of being the perfect gentlemen to the press, but at the same time, i'm sure he is hard as nails to the squad. He definately seems like the type of guy who really commands respect in the dressing room.

Seems to me (at this stage) like he is almost the perfect blend between the "nice guy" managers we have had like Ranieri and Grant, and the "i'm the best manager in the world, so don't question anything i say or do" Mourinho/Ferguson style managers.

It's very true that Scolari has made it almost impossible to think horribly about him, but it's also very true that we are beginning to win over friends with our football.

Very different to the Jose days where he was'nt happy unless he dragged something up on the back pages. (And very fitting that this topic has been brought up in a week where his Inter side lost the Milan derby 1-0).

The press havent taken too kindly to him over there either.

Amen to that. I think LFS is capable of building a great culture around Chelsea of hard work and respectfulness, but I only hope he wants to stick around for long enough to see that take hold. The players already seem to really like him, whereas Jose was an acquired taste for fans and, seemingly, and had to prove he was a winner to justify the upheaval.

Call me crazy but I would like to see that familiar profile on the sidelines for as long as possible. Im not sure LFS wants to manage well into his 60s, especially away from home, but if I were Roman I would be thinking about getting the guy tied up long term.
