Aston Villa v Chelsea (PL) 11/05/13 KO 12:45 BST

Crucial game.

Villa traditionally a bogey ground for us.

We need to forget the EL final on Wednesday and play our strongest side.

That means Ba, obviously.

Following the final on Wednesday we have Everton on the final weekend and we may be tired, particularly as the final involves travelling, a lot of adrenaline and possibly penalties.

It will also be Moyes' last game so they will be pumped up.

We do not want to be going into that one needing a win, otherwise nerves may get the better of us.

This is a big, big game.

I expect Terry and Lampard to come in which sadly means they'll miss the final. I have long suspected that would happen anyway.

Was Hazard limping when he came off tonight? Knowing Rafa he will save him for Wednesday.

As ever with Chelsea, everything to play for.

Let's hope we do it.

JT, Lampard, Ba will be back, provided we dont start with Yossi/Marin, we will win. They have dangerous strikers but not much else , so if we keep the ball well, they won't get many chances. Biggest threat to us in the fatigue, I don't know if Mata/Hazard/Ramires could last another full 90. We had good results against them recently, even Torres scored against them.

Have to start with Lamaprd and Terry.  Have to play like this is the last game of the season, no excuses, no "we only need a win against Everton at home," none of that.

................Cech

Dave....Terry...Luiz...Cole

........Ramires..Lampard

Moses........Mata........Hazard

..................Ba

Spot on with the team selection although he may drop Ramires. This is the game we must win, if it all goes to the last game I fear we will blow it also my nerves can't handle it. For Everton it may be Moyes last game so we don't need any of that rubbish.

as far as im concerned this next 90 is the last they have to go through this season. just win this one and its done. no resting, no calculation, the best team out, giving all they got

The boys looked awfully tired in the last ten minutes of last nights game and will need to recover quickly.  Rafa blew the certainty of a top 4 place last night with his stupid subs. Extra pressure on the players for this game but knowing our lot we will make it difficult for ourselves....a must win - can't leave it for the Everton game....can we?

This. Is. Huge!

No beating around the bush, we are facing a side by rights near the bottom of the table. They are not there by fluke or bad luck. They are that low because they are young, inexperienced and lack the quality that we have. So it is up to us to go there and do the business. No excuses that they are often our bogey side. We put 8, yes 8, goals past them in the reverse fixture so there is no reason we should not win this game, end the speculation about our CL future next season and then look ahead to the final.

Cech

Azpi, Luiz, JT, Cole

Ramires, Lamps

Oscar, Mata, Moses

Ba

Just get at them lads, finish the job!

god f**king dammit this should have been sorted last night

going to be a long 90 minutes, i swear if we're defending a 1 goal lead with 20 minutes to go and he brings on benayoun again.

Predict Rafa's line up with one and half eyes on Benfica?

Cech

Azpi, Cahill, JT, Bertrand

Mikel, Romeu

Yossi, Oscar, Moses

Ba

Leaving fit for Benfica:

Cech

Azpi, Brana, Luiz, Cole

Ramires, Lamps

Oscar, Mata, Hazard

Torres

Ok not sure on the Benfica side but you can picture it come 12PM Saturday cant you?

All eggs in one basket here. Wrap up CL, then go full bore Wednesday for a trophy. The Everton game has a draw written all over it, so we've got to sort it out Saturday!

Cech

Azpi Iva Terry Cole

Ramires Lamps

Moses Mata Oscar

Ba

Hazard appeared to have tweaked his hamstring today. He'll sit Saturday, but hopefully he'll be good to go vs. Benfica.

Luiz could probably use a rest. Ramires too, but one has to start since Mikel's hurt as well.

Need an early goal. Time to step up, Ba - time for a striker to be clinical. If that happens, 3-1 Chelsea. Of course, I don't care how we do it - just get 3 points!!!

Please just win, and put me at ease....

Please.

This season has been the most insane rollercoaster ride ever, and if somehow ended with us losing the last 2 games, and the Euro final, it's going to damn well do me in lol

Oh how I wish this game was now...I know that would do the lads no good but having to wait for Saturday and maybe then it still not being sorted.

Damn those missed chances against Spurs and Saurez's late goal!

Or the dropped points against QPR...

Villa park and a early kick off with a chance to crush spurs hope once and for all. Bogey team or not, we just have to win! Much rather go and play villa away though compared to spurs who have to play stoke away.

Should have been done and dusted last night.Spurs in the Champions league, whats the point? They are not good enough.Put out the strongest 11 against Villa and no Benayoun on the bench please. It will be a tough one but we can come through it.Ba must be more clinical.

We should secure 6 points from our last 2 matches..(but) a draw at villa AT WORST case scenario and anwin v everton should secure our position in top 4...A 3 1 win at villa park is on the menu

A win secures it so we shouldn't be thinking anything else. CL spot secured would give us the boost for the final. I don't want to see us leave it for Everton in Moyes' last game.

I would rotate the living day lights out of the starting XI

               Cech

Ivan - Cahill - JT - Bertrand (if fit)

     Lampard - Mikel (if fit)

Moses - Oscar - Hazard (if fit)

                Ba

The lads looked tired last night and Luiz didn't look fully fit and obviously he pulled up in the warm up, give him a rest before the final.

Ramires looked shot too, he needs a rest his passing was woeful at times last night, again, rest before the final. If Mikel isn't fit start either Romeu or Ake and bring on Ramires/Luiz if required in the second half.

Mata I would rest at the start and bring him on for Hazard in the second half so they both rest before the final. If Hazard isn't fit, start with Mata and replace him with Torres in 70th so that he can rest and Torres gets game time before the final.

On the other side of the coin gents , i feel spuds will fail at Stoke and Le arse will fail in Geordie land. But beating Villa will put all our nervs at rest and we can all look foward to Wednesday night without the thought of beating Everton looming over us.
