"Weakened side" they said.

(Gerrard is not a valid vote despite recording yet another assist for the blues - sorry folks)

Kalas for me. Not actually the best performer, but he ahrdly put a foot wrong on his debut against the top side away from home. We defintely need to see more of him.

My word so many.

Ivanovic was enormous. Matic similarly. Demba took his chance and made a contest all day. Honestly noone deserves to miss out.

If we sell Luiz i think we should just have faith in him, he was class tonight and is learning from the best.

Between Kalas and Dave for me, I'll give it to Kalas because it was his debut. Matic and Schwarzer were great as well, tough decision.

Hes done it again, hws do e it agaaaaain. Steven Gerrard, hes done it again. Needs to be MoM imo

Kalas for me as he had really risen to the occasion on his first start, wasn't bothered by it being a big game at all.

Really good disciplined performance from everyone today, I'm struggling to pick one player out, I might have to see it again when my nerves are calmer to make a choice.

Schwarzer. With Cech's injury he could turn out to be our most important signing this season. Didn't cost a penny either.

Branislark Schwarchovic - for he is the spine and they shall not pass.

Good debut from Kalas, great to see one of the youngsters being trusted. Hopefully Jose will be encouraged.

Whole team worked so hard, all 14 heroes.

Voted for Scnwarzer, but I can not fault anyone today. Such a beautiful result!

Could have gone to a number of players, but for not letting the occasion get to him, it goes to Kalas. Balls of Steel.

Schwarzer for me. Some good saves and his kicking really took some of the pressure off at times.

On a different note, anyone else tempted to have quick peer through the window of a certain liverpool forum??

Schwarzer definitely. Didn't look troubled at all. Apart from Allen's volley and Suarez' late strike, he dealt with everything comfortably.

I've left out Mikel. Much maligned Mikel.

I've just read he made 10 clearances all good ones, and blocked 4 shots. That is herculean stuff.
