We should be stiffling the pathway of our younger players. If the young players are good enough they'll compete and they'll play but there should always be competition for places at a top club.

When there isn't you end up with deadwood like Broja getting minutes and the alternative being an untested teenager.

Callum Wilson is a good player and he'd do a steady job for us for 18 months but if any young striker can't compete and get ahead of an older Callum Wilson they're not cut out for the level we should be at.

 
Apparently we need to sell Broja in order to comply with FFP so sell him and get benzema on loan..  go for a more permanent solution in the summer.

 
Where was that? We're already well within FFP I thought!

They are saying that about every club. It's just sh*t journalism by four blokes sat around a table every night at 7pm with fck all to talk about.

The reality is that most clubs in January are only shuffling the pack so its just financially prudent to try to sell before buying.

What seems to continually be missed is that outside of our league nobody else has any money anyway. Look at cross European transfer. The money involved is a pittance in comparison.  

For us, I cannot see how we can think we can sell a Broja for example for 35m when the likes of Guirassy will move across Europe for about 15m.

His injury record is actually horrific. He just returned 1-2 games ago  now he is out with another separate injury. 12 weeks now for a chest issue which requires surgery. Total reminder that we should avoid him in summer. I am sure Newcastle will look to sell because he is rarely ever fit.
