For years I also thought they were brothers, but Dave & Ansell Collins weren't related. They were Dave Barker (vocalist & DJ) and Ansell Collins (keyboards).

Jimmy Ruffin was never a member of The Temptations. Apparently he was offered an opportunity to sing with the group, but he declined in order to let his younger brother, David, join them.

Ok ok, my excuse for mentioning the toothy ones is that my sister is/was a huge D*nny Osm*nd fan. She even went along to the recent revival concerts, getting soaked to the skin at the open air one in Merthyr. She somehow managed to drag my brother in law along to that one. I could almost feel sorry for him if he wasn't a plastic Manc.

The initial version of the Ramones included Jeffrey Hyman on drums, John Cummings on guitar, and Douglas Colvin on bass and lead vocals. Colvin was the first to use the name Ramone, calling himself Dee Dee Ramone. He was inspired by the fact that Paul McCartney used the pseudonym Paul Ramone. He convinced the other members to take on the name, and came up with the idea of calling the band the Ramones. Hyman and Cummings would become Joey Ramone and Johnny Ramone
