Seeing Eider in red and blue stripes is bad enough. You just KNEW he'd score against us. I'd rather see him go to Glasgow Rangers, but doubt if they could afford his wages.

Eidur loves Chelsea too much to do that, in addtion he has nothing to gain if he goes to Man U - already has 2 titles with us.

I don?t mind doing a Soxy with Guddy - take him back for a second time around after he?s won a title.

Come back Eidur!

he is still good friends with JT and Lamps, so a move for him to come back to us would be more realistic. Also, the mancs have always been linked with him

Well, Eidur and his father (his agent) aren't exactly denying these rumours, just saying that they haven't heard anything and that Eidur's happy at Barca. Definitely better than nothing though!

If Eidur must leave Barca, it better to Chelsea.

I'd love Eidur back, not sure how he would fit into the current squad now, in fact Yes I do, and its not Sheva's or Drogba's role.

I think Eidur gives us a nice option in terms of attack, one we don't really have right now. He would be amazing playing with Sheva, who is an out-and-out striker, in a 'support striker' role. Sheva would be bound to score more, seeing as that's how he played in Milan (think Kaka.. and no I'm not saying Eidur is Kaka, but it would be a similar position).

Considering we only have 2 strikers, a 3rd one would be good... And Eidur didn't burn any bridges, he would be welcomed back with open arms by the players...

So now he needs to wants to come back, and the club has to want him as well...

Oh well, I can dream, can't I...

Found a good (brief) video on him at Chelsea (steady, this is turning into an Eidur Tribute thread)

That's a great video Mod, Eidur is a Chelsea legend in my eyes. Some great memories and some great goals (see: that bicycle kick) Eidur definitely did us proud!

This is turning out to be a bit Eidur Tribute thread, I agree, not that I'm complaining...

Oh, and watching that reminds me.. Chelsea should get on signing Eidur's sons soon! Clearly football talent runs in his family, and I don't want anyone getting their hands on future Chelsea stars!

Except Shevchenko never was an out-and-out striker at Milan

Fair enough, you have me there. A tad of an exaggeration.

But... he was expected to do less defensive work than he is now, and had Kaka providing him with passes he just doesn't get now... Not that I'm saying he can't and hasn't adapted (well I kind of am, I mean he hasn't has he?), I am just saying that maybe we can exploit his talents a bit more if he were to play in a situation similar to when they have been exploited previously.

...cut to the chase, admit he(Shevchenko) is not up to the task- he's lost it and it ain't coming back.

Eidur and Drogba- now you're talking.
