Crespo himself wasn't a flop, he was excellent in the two seasons we had him. Wonderful player, scored some brilliant goals and for me you had to watch him live to fully appreciate his off the ball movement.

But the deal we got was awful for what we shelled out in transfer and wages. Two good seasons with us but three playing for other teams whilst still largely being paid by us, wasn't much to show for it.

if Jose rates Crespo, then I rate Crespo. If I remember correct he left cause his family didn't adjust to London. I remember the flashes of brilliance that Crespo showed us. Like this Gem @ that library called Highbury

I loved the bloke, a fantastic striker and was gutted he couldn't settle.  That goal at Highbury is an all time favourite.

Crespo was the most complete forward to ever play for us, yes, more complete than Drogba, Dixon, or Weah. The man was pure class who's only purpose in life was to put the ball in the back of the net.

I wouldn't say more complete than Drogba, he could finish, score thunderbolts, take free kicks, hold up play, take penalties, score beautiful headers, link up well and not to mention he almost always turned up on the big occasion.

But yes, Crespo was an amazing player.

Not sure taking free kicks adds to a forwards credentials , maybe I should have described Crespo as the most complete goal scorer .
