Woeful performance...where are the goals going to come from...if Hodgson has any sense, Barkley will start ahead of rooney...but think group stage exit is very likely

I really don't understand how players who play in one of the top leagues in the world can play that bad. Surely your touch is one of the most basic things in football, England don't look like the can control a football, how is that possible ?

If we can't do the most basic things, how will we ever improve ?

Once again, watching England has left me with more questions than answers.

Oh dear, players blaming ref and Honduras tactics for not winning...if we can't beat Ecuador and Honduras, how the fcuk will we beat Italy and Uruguay...

We created three chances in total tonight, two for Sturridge, one for welbeck and that included playing against 10 men for a good half hour...their keeper made one save (from welbeck) all night

What did Baines do? For Everton he bombs forward and delivers cross after cross...even against 10 men, he just passed it safely, never took his man on...didn't justify being picked ahead of Cole at all

Well based off these friendly's, my team for Italy would be:

Hart

Milner/Jones/Smalling (anyone not named Glen Johnson)
Cahill
Jagielka
Baines

Henderson
Gerrard
Wilshere

Barkley
Sterling
Sturridge

Not all that promising but gets some of the overrated w**k on the bench at least.

I've always been a big defender of Rooney's, but isn't half making it difficult to me.

Steven Gerrard proved again that he's pretty useless unless a system is created which completely accommodates him and places him at the focal point.

The team should be built around Barkley. He has the most upside in the squad and is something special.

Rooney when fit is fantastic and our best player, but he rarely is fit. If he had worked as hard as Lampard to improve his game, he would have been one of England's all time greats.

Cole should still be starting in all honesty, especially based on England performances.

Sturridge has shown little signs that he is a good lone striker.

A bit of an incoherent post, but if the England team want to have no logical structure then neither will I when talking about them.

Makes sense to me mate...for years we have had to put with Lampard being blamed for Gerrard being sh*t...so now lamps is a sub, what's Gerard's excuse now?

I think they might just be playing 2 games then coming home…..what a waste of time and effort….f**king hopeless, have been since we won it in 66. :face_palm:

Milner was worse than Johnson against Ecuador, even though Johnson is terrible i would pick him over Milner.

Sums up England's pool of talent when you're picking players based on who is the least sh*t.
