World Cup Final BBC or ITV?

It did for one game I watched, I looked for it the other day and couldn't find it, so it went back on mute. I hope this option is available, I would use it all the time without fail. If that option isn't available then it doesn't matter the channel as it'll be on mute anyway.
I tend to tune out of the commentary but I think it would be strange to watch a silent match on tv.  And it can be quite handy to have players identified if you miss who's doing what for whatever reason.  But I tend to let other comments go in one ear and out the other without connecting to my brain at any time!

And Bluedave - I like the fact that our players (and one just about ex) are high profile for a change rather than the red teams.

Ok sounds like the red button has a few compromises. I'll just stick with regular BBC HD
They have improved it now so commentary is in sync...so superior to any tv commentary..there is no one trying to make smart arse jokes, just proper chat about the game...with real analysis from the ex player, whoever it may be

ITV because BBC actually has worse commentary, Tyldesley and Townsend can do dramatic commentary which is all I care for. BBC people really come off as people who don't watch football regularly.

BBC, only downside is Ferdinand but I can refresh the beer while he is on

Its a tricky one, I feel dirty watching Ferdinand in any context, but the sight of Chiles, Strachan and Lee Dixon is also quite stomach churning. Also Glen Hoddles beach attire the other day..Oh my word.

Average audience of 13.5m people watched last nights game on the BBC.

I would expect them to get the lions share of viewers for the final as well.

It still is now. I tried it for the spain holland game and it ruined the first 2 goals. Don't know how people can watch it

Speaking of synchronisation BBC commentary tends to get exciting before we actually see the attack take place, like I'd always hear 'oh that's a really good pass' or 'he's in!' before the pass was even made.

And they can't pronounce some names properly like David Luige.. really annoyed me.

Found a report that for the World Cup Final in 2010, 17.9 million people watched the game on the BBC and 3.8 million watched it on ITV. Similar viewing figures this time around? The 1970 FA Cup replay between us and Leeds was watched by 28 million.

cheers Brit, I'll give it a go

Works fine for me...missing it tonight as they would provide welcome insight rather than the lame duo of tyldesley and townsend

I watched ITV because I don't like the BBC Commentators, as for the pundits both channels have pros and cons
