Once again, a VERY ordinary performance. I was really disappointed with Frank (again) Malouda (anonymous) and Hilario conspired to hand the game to Norwich. Bosingwa is definitely improving, Ramires worked his socks off and both Mata and Lukaku did well when coming on. Mata, respect, first game first goal.

Hilario 5 - ok performance except the goal against and couple of times he missjudges distances
Ivanovic 6 - Takes little of the blame with bad communication with hilario on the goal against
Bosingwa 6 - Great goal, but need to work on his crosses
Terry 6 - ok performance
Cole 5 - Not been convinced by his performances in the last matches, bad crosses and leaves huge space for counters
Ramires 7 - Great counter with anelka to earn us the penalty, great workrate and only small negative was some sloppy passes
Lampard 5 - Very anonymous at times, good play with mata at the end and a penalty goal
Mikel 4 - Not giving norwich a hard time infront of our defence and his passing play is slow and predictebal
Malouda 2 - No effort today and was giving the ball away way to much.
Drogba 4 - Lost way to many duels, close to scoring with the torres pass in first half
Torres 4 - same as drogba
Subs : (would have given them 1-2 higher score if they played longer at the same level)
Mata 7 - Great start in the chelsea shirt. Kept moving around with and without the ball, nice play on the left with lampard and a goal.
Lukaku 6 - Good positioning as central striker, unlike drogba/torres he wanted the ball and was a constant threat
Anelka 6 - Good counter with ramires for our second goal and was more direct in his play then he usually is
Ivanovic 6 - Takes little of the blame with bad communication with hilario on the goal against
Bosingwa 6 - Great goal, but need to work on his crosses
Terry 6 - ok performance
Cole 5 - Not been convinced by his performances in the last matches, bad crosses and leaves huge space for counters

Had a look at the replay to get a better idea
Hilario 6 - Made some good saves but didn't need to come for the equaliser
Bosingwa 7 - Spanked away his goal. Lacked an option in front of him. Too often there was noone within 20 yards of him and he just had to take it on himself, some excellent balls into the channel for Lukaku late on too.
Ivan 6.5 - Has his share of blame for the goal, but made some good strong headers when danger loomed late on. Missed a sitter
JT 6.5 - Bit shaky, doesn't look all that comfortable with the highline particularly with Cole and Bosingwa bombing on. Couple of good headers at cornertime
Cole 6.5 - Nothing special, some good interplay with Mata when he came on
Mikel 6.5 - Did his bit, but doesn't really give you much
Ramires 7 - Did well to win the pen, was dangerous on the counter
Lampard 7 - Did better than anyone is giving him credit for. Took his penalty well, put in a beauty of a cross that Ivan should have scored from. Looked a lot better after Mata came on to give him an out ball.
Drogba 6.5 - Did his best to linkup with Torres, but looked a bit off the pace. Hope he is ok after the knock he took.
Torres 6.5 - Drifted in and out. Unlucky with a good header from Mata's cross.
Malouda 5.5 - Not his best work.
Nico 7 - Looks the best of our forward players currently, great little touch to send Ramires clear.
Mata 7 - Just as good as we all hoped
Lukaku 7 - First touch let him down a bit, but for a young lad who would have obviously been nervous he looked good (although of course with the benefit of only having ten men). Would have had a tap in if Mata decided to pass.

I've watched it again and I'm not sure the pass to Lukaku was on. Would have either been cleared or resulted in an own goal from the defender imo.

Oh the delights and insights one can get from Football Manager and watching from afar on an internet stream!

We had so little movement in our frontline/midfield anyone with a bit of pace and workrate looks good. He was my own MoM though his distribrution and first touch could definetly improve, if he had these he would be one hell of a player.

I wouldn't know, I don't play Football Manager and I get 36/38 Chelsea games in HD on my TV...the joys of living in Australia.

Hahaha! Yeah, some of those ratings I put in there to stir people. Shame it didn't work
On reflection and after watching the game on replay twice (uni holidays!)...i still wouldn't diverge too far from those ratings. Maybe drop Ramires to a 5, Torres to a 3 and make them out of 7.
