2025/26 Chelsea FC squad

I said we need winger, st, and gk.

But what do we really need? Player who can move the needle. It can be any position. Having Reece James healthy for the whole season and firing will have more impact than neto, sancho, kdh, Felix, Tosin.

Having just bought a striker and hunting for another, any point in keeping the wonder kid trio of Huey, Dewey, And Louie. Sorry I mean David Datro Fofana, Washington, and Broja?

I'd also keep Chalobah and add Badiashile to the sell list instead.

Before a ball was kicked Saturday night, you just knew the two weak links were Sanchez and Badiashille and boy, do those two make me nervy anytime they have the ball. Can't recall seeing a defender looking as uncomfortable on the ball as Badiashille. Even straight forward passes to his feet, he somehow manages to miss control.

We have a fairly decent looking squad but that will count for nothing if Sanchez and Badiashille continue to get playing time. Gaffs will cost us points and the team will lose any momentum and confidence. BOTH have to go.

What was it Pep said recently about City having too big a squad and only wanting to work with 20 players. Imagine giving him this squad!!

How when so many are recent(ish) signings is there so much deadwood there? Don't get me wrong, we have some quality and a lot of potential, but it's a mess.

Can see a lot of those not wanted by anyone and being made to train away from first team squad come August.

Thanks! This is really underwhelming, the board has bought so many players and not much to convince me that we're challenging any time soon. So much mediocrity when we just needed to improve certain positions with proven quality. And, I don't see this lot selling many of those players to reduce the size of the team.

We essentially needed a GK & a ST for the starting XI then potentially a backup LB.

We’ve signed Delap who is a generational upgrade on the dross we had available at ST ✅

We haven’t signed a GK ❌

We haven’t signed a backup LB and don’t seem interested in giving ISS minutes ❌

We’ve spent 55M on a LW who’s worse than what we currently have available ❌

We’ve just spent another 50M on a player who’s best position doesn’t exist in this formation ❌

RED: Sell = Loss (Chilwell £5m, Disasi £20m, Sterling £10m, Felix £25m =£40-60m). Felix was the only player from these by the SD's. Disasi was a reactionary buy to cover Fofana's ligament injury.

ORANGE: Loan (not sure how the rules are. 6 players unless home grown or under 21 or something on the lines?) Penders, Paez, Guiu will carry high potential and expected to be of the first team at some point.

GREEN: Sell = Profit (Petrovic £25m, Veiga £20m, Gilchrist £5m, Madueke £50m, Broja £8m = £90-108m)

UNRESOLVED: Not enough rumours on this.

We are looking to buy maybe a CB so it will change the squad a bit if that happens. And maybe Enzo likes the squad being around 25-27 players.

This is not an opinion on the squad. Just trying to see what it could look like. Anyway we will sell and loan out a ton of players. Hopefully being succesful on it. I am sure many of the outgoings will be around late in the window as we know it is a bit of a domino.

 
I’ve seen on social media this list of players with their “status”. Brutal the amount of players that have been accumulated in 3 years. Hopefully a few will still go.

Can't see how we sell Sterling, Chillwell and Nkunku. I expect to see all 3 loaned out.

Chilwell I could have seen dropping his wages and moving to West Ham to replace Cresswell, but not even a sniff about him anywhere.

 
Disasi and Jackson too, however no loans, sell them for whatever we can get, we need to get rid of those high wages as well. Not easy as other clubs dont rate them highly.

 
I have no recollection of us signing a C. Wiley. Give him an additional initial and I would have believed he's an author who has written one successful novel and then mysteriously disappeared.

Why would he do that when he knows the club will just loan him out? Sterling & Chilwell hold the leverage. Not the club.

Just the way he was posting, like he was looking forward to the season and seemed ready to move on. I'm not having a go at him or anything, just seems a bit odd to put that out if he's not going to force a move.
