Anybody else think Arsenal are showing signs of bottling it ?

Everyone in the media has fallen in love with Arsenal this season.

Now Chelsea have gone through an absolute horror of a first season injury wise, but some how with all the injuries and suspensions we still grind result after result.Over 2 years unbeaten at home.

If Gallas hadnt scored against us we would be level on points with Arsenal @ 48pts.

If this was a horse race we would be coming out of the final bend on the tails of the 2 leaders, absolutley breathless & not a drop of sweat on us.

 
Agree, I think the Arse were under too much pressure, and f**ked it. It shall continue (hopefully) for the rest of the season.

I have been saying this a couple of months ago, theyr non-scoring ability from last year will come back to haunt them sooner or later.

How can you say it will be very very hard ?

We are only 4 points adrift & they have yet to play at fortress SB (Over 2 years undefeated).

We have only 8 away games remaining, utd have 9.

Have you seen the remaining fixtures ? We have easily got a chance of snatching this.

The big weekend will be Saturday, 12 April 2008.

Could have mentioned how we're on their tails and they still have to come here, where we haven't lost for almost 4 years in the league. Could have used it as a tool to phsycologically motivate his own team and the 'syke' Arsenal but he didn't. He didn't even know their result.

A member of staff told him the score wrong. What do you expect him to do? Not trust one man to get a score right and seek corroborating confirmation?

It was an innocent, and mildly amusing, cock up and that was all.

That you are looking to use it as a stick to beat him with is a bit lame in my opinion. In fact I find it odd (in fact I don't) that you seem keen to focus on something as trivial as this but in the match thread where people are actually discusing a good perfomrance and a good result you offer nothing. DOes it hurt to just admit that maybe Grant got something right or was that more Jose steam we saw out there?

 
Well he had been told their result, but the language barrier got in the way.

As far as I could tell the conversation went along the lines of:

Interviewer: Arsenal were held

Grant: (to off screen interpreter) held?

Interpreter: they drew

Grant: you said they won

Interpreter: I said it was one - one

Grant: the communication at Chelsea is terrrible

As for psyching Arsenal out, personally I think that being so nice to everyone - other teams, their managers, owners, refs - not to mention the worlds richest men is far more scary!

Yeah thats right, blame the bloke off camera. The whole of the MH stand knew how Arsenal did when they announced it at the final whistle.

I'd could say he was coy and knew the result all along and was just played dumb, but it never came across that way. He looked foolish.

Not using it as a stick to beat him with. I thought we played well, (bar a 15 min spell in the 2nd half) but he came across as a wally in the post match interview. Just saying what I thought.

Grant looking like a misinformed wally on national TV has nothing to do with 'Jose's steam!'

 
OK so he misheard someone and he saw the funny side to it as I would imagine the vast majority of people did.

To turn it into something to criticise for is very much clutching at straws

 
Well I personally haven't come across anyone (other than yourself) who thought anything of it other than it was amusing and nothing more than that. In fact a few of the guys at my work (Scottish football fans so no real opinion on grant either way) actually said it is good that he can be human enough to have a laugh at himself and at the media pereption of the club (which is clearly what the 'no communication at Chelsea' joke was about)
