Away Support Chelsea

Our away support is top notch. Best in the league I reckon.

Shame about our home support though...  :laugh2:

Did anyone see what was going on in the lower tier last night, right next to the arsenal fans (I think it was the second half, my memory is a little jaded). A load of old bill came in and it looked like a couple of lads got taken out, there seeemd to be a bit of trouble but couldn't really see what it was about.

Even got me singing at the top of my voice in front of the TV. Well done lads, done us all proud.

 
Our support was class last night, took the piss on & off the pitch, i know modern day football has taken its toll on supporters in this country but Arsenal fans last night were an embarrisment i've never known such pathetic home support in all the years ive been following Chelsea.

We had a mix of old skool & 100s maybe 1,000s of 18 to mid 20 yr old casuals which was brilliant to see, maybe the cheap tickets had an affect but their our future i just hope they dont get priced out.

Sums it up our PL game there in Dec the same seats will be £63.50 for a game live on sky only days before xmas, i def wont be going thats for sure.

Fair play to the Gooner on the tube after who shook my hand & said " fair play mate your support was the best ive ever seen at Arsenal" maybe a bit cringeworthy but he didnt have to say it i know i wouldnt have.

One weird thing was the seats were all un numbered, a steward said the numbers were on the back of the seat, there wasnt any numbers at all, it was totally un reserved seating/standing everyone stood where they wanted.

Really should know better at my age but i'm still buzzing

Last night showed we shouldnt even think about a new ground...it kills home support as proved over & over especially at Arsenal, they've gained an extra 25,000 support at home yet you wouldnt think so with the lack of noise, they've priced out their old skool & replaced them with muppets, i dont want that for my club, by all means increase the bridge, but leave for a souless bowl? no thanks.
Also last night we had 100s if not 1,000s of 18 to mid 20yrs old all casuals, their our future, cheap tickets, unreserved seating/standing big away allocation then you get an atmosphere just like we created last night, its not rocket science, Chelsea could really make an impact if they could sort the bridge, done the right way we'd have the best home vocal support in the country, sadly it'll never happen though.

 
Great support last night and was gutted I wasn't there but in modern day football you will always find the away support is much better than the home support. Away fans are generally the die hard ones who go every week and won't just sit there and watch the game because they want to get behind the team and make a lot of noise. When you have a 60,000 seater stadium you are going to get a lot of tourists and people who just don't really give a sh*t about singing and are just there to take in a game of football. I've been to games at the bridge where it is the exact same and it is frustrating as hell. You get up to start singing and there is a guy behind asking you to sit down because his kid can't see the game. 

I know the united singing section at old trafford idea has taken some stick but maybe it is the way to go. Massively cringey I know but maybe in the long run it will help to generate better atmospheres at home games?

I've seen a video of it but don't know why the lads were kicked out... Shows the old bill grabbing them by the necks and yanking them down the stairs. The way the lads were treated looked woeful. 

Did someone get nicked for the smoke bomb as well?

Furthermore, at away matches the hardcore are all together in one part of the ground, where they can collectively make a lot of noise. At the Bridge those 9000 would be spread all over the place, so their support gets lost among all the non-singers. It would probably never happen in this country, but a standing section would help.

I didn't see what caused it but there were a sh*t load of old bill in there at one point (probably to nick no more than 2 lads).

I was surprised to see the smoke bomb let off so close to the OB, it was about 2 meters away!

Didn't actually see anyone get nicked for that tbh.

 
Just like to say, people seem to think that they have just realised how good our away support is... Our away support has been one of the best in England for years and it will be for years to come. We sell out pretty much everywhere and we make one hell of a racket! Last season at place like Southampton, Villa, Brentford, United, Leeds (the best i've ever seen) and more... It's f**king brilliant following this club up and down the country taking the piss and having a top day out whilst getting behind the boys and making ourselves known. I know I'll be doing it for many years to come!

Yeah I saw a video but don't know what caused it. Arsenal fans were getting very annoyed with the stewards apparently. Loads reported our fans for throwing stuff but the old bill and stewards did naff all! (Brilliant)

As for the smoke bomb, if you let it off and chuck it away then it's tough even with CCTV to catch you. Loads of it last season

Really great point mate. In fairness I think the club were on the right track with Battersea, a key part of which would have been a huge one tier, all-standing stand behind one of the goals. Many clubs in Germany have a similar setup and the result is that all the young fans can create an almighty racket there for a relatively cheap price. Take Schalke for example, the fans behind the goal we were attacking second half didn't stop chanting and banging their drum well after we were 3-0 up.

What a night last night, superb support, could you ever imagine the gooners being that noisy at the bridge? for a start their song book only has about two songs. After we played saints in cup last season, I glanced at one of their forums to see if they had anything to say about our away support, they praised it and basically said when us and united come to town its all lads on the beer having a day out and getting behind the team, compared to them and other teams that are the funny wigs and face painted fans!! As for the bridge, I was excited about Battersea but after visiting lego land last night, we must stay at bridge and expand!! No No No to a new soulless  ground.

I remember hearing small pockets of fans singing the odd newbie once or twice and thinking 'I like that' However, having slept and spending the day at work slowly but surely sobering up, I can honestly say I can't remember any words  :laugh2: It might have something to do  our widely heard take on manures David Moyes song to 'Come on feel the noise' being stuck in my head.

I'm sure I'll remember the next time I hear them, only to probably let the alcohol induced haze take over again.
