Bang on the money as usual, took the words from my mouth. Admittedly I've only seen Witsel play about 5 or 6 times, but I've never been wholly impressed, like chelsbear said, he flatters to deceive. We need to upgrade on our midfield after they were so poor last year, not sell ourselves short. Let Everton sign him if you ask me.

 
Witsel is bang average, never understood why people were clamoring to sign him

But probably clear sign that Conte wants two CM. Seems the nango deal has gone dead so trying to find someone along with Kante.

Ive said it before but I would break the bank for Verratti.

Matic is a good player but not world class as many us mostly Chelsea fans think. We overrated him that season we won the league because everyone in our team were at there best. But when the team was struggling we all saw the reason why big teams have never queued up to sign and no team will pay more than 20m to sign him. Well I don't want him to leave even if Witsel and Kante come here. He can't replicate that 2014/2015 form consistently so we need to lower our expectations of him so he won't be under too much pressure to do more than he can just like we saw in the last season. But for me it's Witsel over Matic but many of us won't the better player until Witsel eventually join us or any EPL team.
 
So Matic was brilliant and was the best CM/DM in the league that season but it is not his level? Doesn't make sense.

 
selling Matic cheap then getting Wistel on about 25M it's just absolute bizarre and stupid. It's the silly season by the way. 

If he's really that good, he should have at least played a few years in one of the tougher leagues in Europe, I'd say No thanks. Alternatively, buy him then sell him 6 months later at 50M to a rich Chinese club.

Yeah, his level isn't his level. So what is his level? Or doesn't he have a level, or would not having a level be his level? Which then wouldn't be his level........Or something.

He's absolutely no better (or quicker!) than Mikel, but surely that's a bo**ocks story?
