Baba Rahman - The heir to Ash?

^ It really is a puzzling one and you are right there seems to be a trend with Salah, Cuadrado & now Baba might as well lump Djibolji (spell) in with them. Surely our scouts were either employed by Jose or he was/is happy with them?

If you are the board now & Jose comes in January asking for another fullback, you will ask him left or right? If he says he needs another LB, you will tell him he just bought a £21m one in the summer and he also has Ake on loan at Watford.
Yes, knowing we needed an immediate Left back, its hard to imagine Jose didnt think he was ready when he was purchased. So between them they have got it wrong. Yet again.

Excellent game against Dynamo, he destroyed Yarmolenko and was involved in the first goal. He should be our starter from now.

This is what having an actual set of fullbacks does for you. The opposition wingers get so preoccupied with having to defend and track back they become less of a threat because they cant cheat and stay forward. Hopefully this is a nail in Ivanovics coffin at RB

^ No chance reckon he will be back on the bench as soon as Brand is fit. He deserves to start v Stoke though.

Last night was Baba Rahman's first game where i thought he looked comfortable. The nerves that we clear to see in his first few games with us weren't there last night, it made all the difference.

Improvement from the boy.. he looked less nervous too compared to his previous games..

Anyone else noticed how much he slips over?
Yeah, but not as much as he is the furthest man forward, trying to get back on side. I think they need to trust him and slip him through when they can. He plays like a wingback/winger on the ball and can probably cause a lot of damage, being naturally left-footed.

Nail in Ivanovic's (BLOOD RISING!) coffin - at right back (Blood normalizes).

Sporting an impressive beard. A case of hair migration it looks like. From head to chin.

Oscar helped him quite a bit. Him and Haz is not as solid defensively. Oscar was actually very good in that game if you look at what he is doing. Ate his effectiveness from attack but Jose's idea was to keep Yarmolenko cold.Anyway I want to see him play more and attack more.

It's refreshing to see his distribution. I don't think he hit one aimless cross field ball, which something ivanovic does far too often.

If he can just compose himself a bit more in the final 3rd, I think he can nail down a starting role for us long term.

Just to add, he seems to be going the same way as zouma, who also looked shaky in his first appearances, and was critised unfairly imo on here quite a bit.

Everyone cries out for youth players, but then have a go at them when they look nervous. We should give young players the same patience regardless of whether they came through our system or if they cost 10-15m.

He didn't look nervous at all on Wednesday. The first few games he clearly looked nervous.

Looking forward to seeing him playing regularly. It's been too long that the attacking play has been stifled by the fullback situation.

It's been awhile since I last saw our player consistently making the runs along the left flank instead of cutting in to the centre.

Glad that he was doing that during the match, at least it added something new into our game.
