Seems English guys hate Germans. Americans don't like Brazilians, so I feel most of us were supporting Germany in that game.

Germany, despite them being German, are the least bad of the three remaining options in my opinion, which isn't at all influenced by Germany being my team in the work sweepstake.
They also have a Chelsea player so good luck Schurlle

As much as the gesture will be appreciated and acknowledged... Every time Oscar, Willian and Ramires show up to training they'll look at Schurrle and be thrown back to that night. Jose has some pep work to do...

I think Scolari made a fatal mistake by making Luiz Captain, he completely lost his head and I think the responsibility got to him. I know he was always a bit unpredictable but I don't think I've ever seen him have a worse game.

I've always defended him against My Husband who slagged him off all the time, so I had to put with numerous I told you so's last night.

I felt sorry for Brazil at first, but then I couldn't stop laughing, especially at the cry babies in the crowd....

Would personally like to see Messitina win it.  I love the bloke. He has been the best player in the world for a long time now IMO and apart from Aguero, who hasn't looked remotely fit in this World Cup, and De Maria in spells, he is dragging along a very ordinary Argentina side on his coat tails. A truly fabulous footballer.

That said I can't forsee anything stopping ze german juggernaut now, and I wouldn't begrudge them a world cup victory at all.

A colleague of mine suggested match fixing. After careful consideration we agreed that 7-1 is too high a score for match fixing, as you don't want to draw any attention to your scam, plus Brazil haven't been a good team all through the WC.

I've got Holland in the sweepstake at work, other than that I'm not really too bothered about the eventual winners...As long as its a cracker.

Wow, the Germans were efficient last night, but if anything, it shows you how lucky a poor Brazillian side has gotten to get this far in the competition.

Scolari, as we have seen first hand, is not cut out to be a modern coach at the highest level. His methods at Chelsea were, by all accounts, laughable and tactically, I would rather have Benitez back in charge.

Most could see that Brazil needed to play Ramires & Fernandinho in the middle, with Willian wide and Oscar as the No10, despite how poor Oscar has been, (which is pretty bloody poor) to stand any chance at all, but saying that, I'm not sure it would have made much difference to the overall result. There's no doubting that Germany now have one hand on the trophy.

Jose has been kind in offering some words of support towards Luiz today, but he must have been laughing his head off whilst providing his sentiments to Yahoo. I'm afraid we saw the very worst & ugly side of the ''Geezer'' and PSG must be trying to get hold of the financial ombudsman service as we speak.

The rash lunges, the complete loss of position, the charging forward, the lack of support for team-mates, the non-existent man marking, the frustration that turned into anger when he tried to forearm smash an opponent before kicking out at Muller (and missing). It really was everything bad that we became accustomed to seeing week in - week out, rolled into one huge, embarrasing package.

If that was a Sunday morning kick about, he would've been hauled off after 10 minutes. Sure, Marcelo was bad too, but David was the pick of the bunch & if there was ever any doubts that Chelsea, overall, made the right call in selling him for such a vast amount, surely they have been fully erased now.

So basically Just, anyone but the Dutch?!!

But I do agree on Messi - would almost be fitting for Argentina to win it and Messi be pretty much the sole reason.

But as you say and that old football cliche goes, NEVER back against the Germans.

Oliver Kahn: 'It's quite obvious how much some Germany players who worked with Mourinho have improved over the last couple of years.'

Oliver Kahn: 'You look at players like Khedira and Schurrle and you think, there must be something special about Mourinho'

Im living in Germany at the moment and I really want them to win just to enjoy the party, actualy be part of the celebrations of a country winning the WC. God knows it'll never happen for bloody England. Also want the Dutch to get to the final and get humped as the Germans HATE the dutch, so that should add to the fun.

Argentina winning it would be ok though, Messi needs this to cement his place as the worlds best over the Portugese Ladyboy.

The Germans hate the Dutch?? If anything, it is the reverse, although Dutch opinion of the Germans has improved markedly over the past 10 years or so. Doesn't mean the Dutch don't want to beat the Germans though :-)

I think the Germans have looked the best team throughout the tournament even with the frustration of the Algeria game. Glad we've a Chelsea player in the squad

I'm now pulling for Messi...er, Argentina...to win it all.  Germany looks to be the best team, though.  Messi still has to go through the Dutch today, and that should be a very competitive match.

I can't help but not want to see Holland in the final. Who wants to read about f**king Gaal, Van Persie from United fans? I certainly don't. Also Robben doesn't deserve it, I feel.

Anyone but the Dutch, but I won't mind if they make the final cause I want to see Brazil v Argentina in the 3rd place match. With such lenient referees there would be drama waiting to happen.

Surprised by all the "anyone but the Dutch" posts, especially when the only alternatives are Argentina and Germany! I'd like to see them do it.
