I got that, my response was to the comment about carraghers technical ability, which you turned onto JT-

what I'm saying is, it seems in some circles people see terry's passing and touch to be at or just above sol campbell say, and nothing could be further from the truth.

Caragher is nowhere near ther player or captain/leader John Terry is, he is however, better than Ferdinand and Ledley King, just back from injury. He should have made more starts at Centreback for England but was from and era where that was one of our strongest positions.

If you disagree on JC, just watch the CL game at Anfield last year, it pains me to say it, but he had a fine game that night!

Anybody who is so blinkered as to claim that JT has 'little or no technical/ passing ability' clearly knows next to nothing about football.

Nice work closing those gates DKW. You can really dig a hole for yourself sometimes can't you Red Rob - must be your familiarity with those hubcaps as digging implements! Dear oh dear.

There has to be some scope for a few chants next time we play Liverpool.

I heard some of that on TalkSport yesterday. Much as I detest Adrian Durham, I've got to give him credit for questioning Carragher's bottle in a radio interview, and winding him up to the point that the scouse turd was virtually offering to fight him. Carragher was whining that he was behind Ledley King in the pecking order, and he certainly didn't like it when Durham suggested that he fight for his place

I happened to be listening to Talkcrap when Carjacker rang in - talk about losing it! To pull over, ring a radio station and then offer the presenter out live on air - well the bloke needs his head testing! Embarrassing isn't the word for it - pathetic is more appropriate!

Who was it who said think not what your country can do for you, think what you can do for your country? This applies (in lesser terms, I concede) to this situation. Will he be jumping up and down with delight if England win the Euros next year, knowing that he could have contributed in some way, even if it was only in the 5-a-sides? This is one of the reasons why England will never win anything, imho. The players who play are looked upon as being priviliged or 'chosen' - the others are 'left out' or 'dropped'. Too much ego and politics surround the whole deal, from the journos who want England to fcuk up to the players like Carjacker who get the arse because they aren't playing regularly. All you English guys out there, how many of you would gladly be the kit man for your national team? How many of you would give up your time if it meant that the players representing your country had every opportunity to win? Carjacker has been overtaken by his own ego and selfishness. Fair enough if you're too knackered to play week in week out, or your family asks you to stop after several years of service, but to walk away because he thinks he should be playing - sad, very sad.

Not only has Jaime (as they pronounce it at Real Scouseiadad) let his country down, he's made a rod for his own back. To so strongly protest FOR giving up what should be an honour is stupidity of the highest order. It'll follow him for the rest of his career and cause problems for Liverpoo that really ought not to have arisen. A foolish move by a foolish man.

I'm now expecting a PM from Our Jaime offering me out, which I shall pass on to Bluebeard for a small finders fee!

But he's a Scouser, and everybody knows that Scousers are speshul cases. But seriously, imagine if, for instance, he'd been having a go at Frank Lampard over some of his less than iimpressive England performances, and Frank had phoned to .. ahem .. 'ave a word. Imagine the headlines - "Chelsea thug menaces radio presenter" ... "Durham consides retiring after shock threats from Chelsea player". But what do we get about this Scouse git? Durham's co-presenter taking the piss out of him and giving the Scouse git credit. It's just one more case of one rule for Scousers and one rule for everyone else.

Speaking of which, did anybody else catch the numerous Scouse gits phoning later last night to say they were "Scouse not English". They want independence, fine. Let them have it. Let them all rot together in their own stinking hole.

actually, lamps did ring tony gale (after gale criticised him for moving, I think)... not sure if it was live on sky or after, but he (lamps) copped a fair bit of flak for being "thin skinned"... an accusation repeated after the world cup. interesting to see what is made of carragher basically challenging the guy to a fight live on radio

Lofty I like you're idea of giving the scouse tossers their independence but they'd soon come crying when the realise that the unemployment allows has all dried up!

I think we should take Lofty's 'independence for scouseland' one step further, and napalm the f*ckin' place

Who was it who said think not what your country can do for you, think what you can do for your country?
John F. Kennedy I think.

While Carragher is clearly doing this out of a lack of chances, I think it's a good move and I hope that Lampard would consider doing the same in the near future.

I hope he doesn't- while chelsea are definately the priority, I still want england to do well.

Pat Nevin was on 5Live this morning talking about this. He said that at the age of 43 he still hadn't made himself unavailable for Scotland, which was funny. He also said he rated Carragher as the best defennder in England, which wasn't.

To the tune of 'where's your momma gone'

Where's your bottle gone

Jamie Carragher

I don't like Durham but credit it to him for not backing down when Carjacker called up. There aren't many presenters who would tell a player live on air that he's not as good as some of his peers.

I don't really care if Carragher wants to retire from England. It's his choice. He just didn't have to turn it into an all too familiar self-pitying Scouse whinge.
