there was an 'eddie newton soccer school' at my primary in what must've been 1997/8ish, which he'd check up on every now and then - i remember when he first came down i was in my number 9 vialli shirt, i remember trying really hard to get him to see it aswell lol

he also ran soccer schools in the area during half terms and stuff which i went to, goes to my mates mosque aswell and he says he's a really nice guy

i know a lot of people who do music aswell, one who's relatively successful now wasn't always so known, and upon a group of us seeing mario melchiot in central london i went up and gave him a mixtape  was nice about taking it and stuff, dunno if he actually listened though!

not a chelsea player but my mum was a nurse and had to wheelchair a man into theatre for his operation once, she asked what he did and he said he was a footballer, she said "oh really? play for anyone important?" and he laughed and said yeah, when she came home she asked my dad who "david seaman" was

I work in the city and was attending an IPO presentation at which ossie was one of the frontmen , was stood having a chat with him when a " lifelong " chelsea fan came up and told us he was such a huge fan that whilst in france for the 97 cup final , he made the bar owner turn over the tv so he could watch the game, ossie just  looked at me and said  " come on john, lets go over here and have a drink " , one of the best moments of my life !!

I also met teddy maybank and used to drink in the same pub when i moved to hove, nice bloke , but loved a drink and could get quite lairy !!

have also briefly spoke to wise at ascot who was fairly aloof and disinterested, also when i was about 4 or five my mum took  me to a sports shop owned by the cat somewhere in tooting bec or clapham i think, he was there and we got a discount on the old yellow away kit.

I ve been lucky enough to have met quite a few players down the years. Back in the early 90s I met Ossie when he did an after dinner speach at my football club and he was a top guy. I also attended a dinner at my dads football club and two of the guests of honour were Ian Mcneil who and Ted Drake who looked slightly embarresed when i thanked him for bringing us our first title.

I bumped into Eddie Newton round the back of Oxford Street, he was on crutches and i remember asking how the recouperation was going, he was a top guy. Also went to a Christmas do in the early 90s and had a good laugh with graham stuart who was quite a piss taker also gave Wisey a square bit of red card and was trying to get him to show it to Gareth Hall who was glaring at us. Met Kevin Hitchcock who was a top chap desipte bein a Hammer at heart.

Had a long conversation with a mate and Andy Townsend at the same do where we asked him why he wasnt playing as well that season and the cheeky wotsit blamed Vinny Jones who of course was out of earshot. Graham Le Saux is also a decent guy and not so posh sounds on TV.

Also got a pass to the players lounge at Wimbledon once and met Johnny Bumstead,Steve Clark, Kerry Dixon, Ken Monkou, Joe Mclaughlin, Colin Pates and a few more.

But my favourite was getting to play at the Bridge in a tournament and lining up against Clive Walker who was still jet quick. Had a chat with him after the match and got talking about 'that goal''at Bolton and i mentioned that i actually wasnt at that game and he replied you must be about the only one that wasnt judging by the amount of people who tell me they were!!! Saw him in the bar later and he came over for a chat-really down to earth guy.

Your female and have a pulse , that combination usually works for most footballers .........................

Frank and Juan are far more discerning than 'most footballers', though.

I have made loads I'm not sure if you can make out my picture but that's me in the dressing rooms with desailly. Not long after winning the world cup. Anytime I went to the bridge I used to go into the dressing rooms

I remember being in the tunnel Chelsea v west ham and Rio Ferdinand getting a champagne balloon and flowers for he's 21st birthday if I knew what I know now I would have kicked him in the balls. The nicest away player I met was Steve Watson really nice guy and say what you want about beckham I found him really nice and freindly.

Most of the squad in the 70s, I was a kid and we had loads of juniors and reserves lodging with us. Times were hard and dad needed help with mortgage payments. Regularly got comps, players bar access, played snooker in players bar, and the Doc was round on a few occasions. Even had the CWC round a few days after winning it, with Harry Medhurst (senior) as he grew up with my old man

JT, Frank, Huth, SWP, Morris... I would add Joe Cole to that list but he wasn't even bothered to smile or anything when I said he had a good game. Then there's Harris, Bonetti & Tambling who I've actually had a conversation with.

I told Jody Morris he was the love of my life...!

Ray Lewington and Teddy Maybank both went to Stockwell Manor..played against them a few times...especially in the London Senior Schools Final in 1972....Teddy had just come back from knee surgery....

Hello mate, I'm guessing your username is the name of your school, and guessing your age to be mid 50ish you may know my cousin who went there. He was, and still is, a good friend of Ray's and grew up in Stonhouse Street a couple of hundred yards away from where Ray lived.

Ossie on a train from Waterloo back to Southamton with the rest of the Southampton team, soon after they won the FA Cup I think. Another time coming back from Carlisle I think we met Gordon Hill on the train from Waterloo. He still lived in Farnborough although he had just signed for Man U, had a good chat and got his autograph, nice fella.

Met Hazard after the second friendy in America. Was walking to my car with my girlfriend and he was standing in the parking garage with his luggage :)

More detail, please!  What did you say to him?  What did he reply? Did he smile? etc etc

He looked really nervous when we walked up to him, probably because my girlfriend was in shock and acting like a lunatic :laugh2:

Had time to say hello, he said hi and shook my hand, and then the security guards rushed him off as their was a whole slew of people coming behind us too.
