Because this trophy, to me, hangs about as high as the league cup. Thats why. Also couldnt care less about the FIFA Club World cup in case you wondered.

I want to see us win every trophy we are in for, I loved seeing us win the super cup after we won the cup winners cup years ago.

 
a chance to win this doesn't come around often. we should play our strongest side in my view. and we should be really serious about winning the world club cup too.

 
I'll be on holiday so will try and catch it in a bar. Another European trophy in the bag? Yes bloody please. Would love to win this.

Does anybody know if Courtois has actually met our squad? Did he ever trained with chelsea or he went stratight to atletico both summers?

 
Good for Courtois being able to play us. As undertow said, he deserves it.

JT has to sit this one out, right? Then the last game of his ban is suspended?

I want us to win everything we're in, but I'd prefer the Club World Cup to this. Something about being "world champs" (and our club patch possibly being gold next year!) excites me. Still, would love to win them both.

 
Someone like Dembele would be perfect. He could play in the two, the three and the one of the 4231 system. We definitely need depth up front and he could be an alternative option, although he plays better deeper.

Thought I read somewhere that Courtois couldn't play this match? I don't mind either way tbh.

 
We won the last FA Cup at The Old Wembley Stadium and The first at The new one. Symmetry.

We won The first Super Cup at The Stade Louis, and this year is the last before it moves to Prague........ :good:

Well it will be alternating, at the Cardiff City Stadium the next year and in Tbilsi, Georgia (god knows why) in 2015

Cant get excited by this trophy. Would rather we stayed focussed on challenging for the league this year, which based on 3 games is looking like a possibility. All our major rivals have already dropped points.

To me that would make more sense if we played soft teams in the league and fa cups. I think we've won the FA enough lately and the league well need we talk about the Capital One cup anymore? Considering this is a one-off in one of the most epic kingdoms in the world, I don't see why we should field a decent team. Your right, we need to concentrate on the Prem and the CL but is the cost of one game really that important?

 
i don't see why we should not really go for this trophy. seeing as we got the international break coming up anyway

This is a reward for winning the Champions League or Europa League , it's not just a friendly like the Community Shield it's bigger then that. You only get a chance to play for this trophy if you win one of those competitions , it's not something that will come around that often. I say go for it , treat it like a proper final because you never know when you will get another chance.

 
How can we focus on the league when we are not playing? :rolleyes: It's a trophy against the good European team, we should and will do everything to win it. If the CL winner can't beat the EC winner, then something is not quite right. We aren't going to risk injured players for this, but we definitely need to play our best team.
