Although I have been looking in on this thread and having a bit of a laugh I really have found myself wondering how the initial argument has turned round to a lesson in how good Frank Lampard is...

I know Saaladin is new to the forum but we actually had a few posters on here that had already recognised the potential in Lampard and some even that he contributed quite well to the overall performance of the team.

what a momentous discovery it is though to learn that his passing and indeed just his presence on the pitch can make other teams perform differently and the thought of him passing to a player who then passes to another player I must admit has up to now escaped my atttention.

The discussion as I thought was concerning someone that could dribble (which isn't Franks best attribute) and now its turned to how good Frank is.

Sorry to take the p*ss but this has gone on and on with the crux of the argument changing from post to post, nobody here wants to gang up on a new poster but maybe a more humble approach instead of one that portrays you as somebody who just argues for the sake of it at least until you've been around a while might have been a better approach.

The "fact" that you Coach at a high level is really not going to impress many on this forum to be fair...we've had a run of proper Managers running our team at the highest level that half the posters here think are clueless.

So you arent impressed unless we beat big name teams? You plastic, you total and utter plastic. What should we have done then, just beat them 1-0 to make a game of it? Would that have impressed you? And your equating some scottish geezer getting you to boot it forward to the football Chelsea have played this season? f**k me, this is getting more and more ridiculous and laughable.
OMG.

How old are you? 14? You seem like you don't apply logic to your reading and replies. It's great they won 6-0 and yes they should do that of course. I'm just saying to me it's not that impressive.

And when did I EQUATE my old coach to Chelsea. I AM GIVING AN EXAMPLE, and that example had nothing to do with Chelsea. The example demonstrated that people have different ideas about the game and that is fine, and that can often results in a clash of ideas, also fine.

You seriously need to read first before you comment.

And I agree which is why I wanted to avoid mentioning that I coach because it's irrelevant. Only reason I said anything was because someone questioned my knowledge as if it was "memorized"

My arguments have never changed. From the beginning I said Chelsea has not been playing well and losing Frank IMO, is one of the main reasons. Whether he dribbles or not doesn't matter. He is a playmaker. When I made the comment about a dribbler I was talking about our current set up without Lampard. I was saying that Malouda is not a great dribbler as a winger, he is not great at 1v1 situations so seeing as how we don't have Frank expecting Malouda to get it done on his own is not the answer. So, I was saying we either need a playmaker on the wing who has the ability to dribble and create space for himself, or one in the middle to supplement what Frank brought.

That's it.

Get the f**k out, winning 6-0 at the highest level of football in this country isnt impressive? f**k me, have Chelsea fans became this blase and spoilt? And you did equate it by mentioning it immediately after talking about the way chelsea play, otherwise what was your point?

Nah, last season winning 6-0 was easy, it's just that this year they made the 'keepers better on FIFA.

if thats your view fair enough but i dont understand what your saying. if you score 6 goals at any level it impressive i remember the times we would'nt get 6 shots never mind 6 goals. we do miss lampard i have no doubt about that but all teams go through bad patches so lets crack on and beat the spuds on sunday.

I won't read all through the rest of the thread and really don't quite grasp your view that we haven't played good football even when slaughtering teams 6-0 but this post I can agree with.

Frank being in the team obviously gives us something extra and the players we have had there recently although good players haven't been able to offer what Frank does, I would still say they would be a lot more likely to in form...Essien is not playing like we know he can, Ramires isn't quite up to the EPL yet and Mikel is doing his usual job usually quite well...we have lost a player that could have helped losing Frank a bit more seamless in Benayoun and we have been unlucky in losing Zhirkov as well.

Mceachran looks like he will be good cover for Frank but it might be a bit early for more than cameos at the moment.

I think you saying we haven't played good football in one breath then in another saying we need Frank and how much he offers is a bit strange, are you saying we would play good football if Frank was in the team and if you are why don't you think we did when he was?

I'm saying when Frank was here we were playing much more fluid football, more creative and a lot more dynamic. The 6-0 wins while great and exemplified top notch finishing also had to do with the competition being weak. I don't think anyone can disagree with that. It's not like we beat Tottenham 6-0. I mean common it was West Brom, Wigan and Blackpool. And although the score was high I still think there was room for improvement in our total game.

Even when Frank gets back, I think Chelsea needs to focus on improving their build-up play and connecting the dots better in order to beat the best teams in the Prem and in CL.

I'm not repeating my point. Its there if you choose to read it. If not that's fine.

I think you're underestimating the Premiership mate to be honest, those big wins include the likes of Villa as well and very good wins against the rest of the so called top four last season, maybe not by huge margins but quite comprehensively on occasion, we've seen again and again there are no easy games anymore.

I don't expect Frank to come back and work miracles, Carlo has clearly got a job on his hands but what I do think is that this team is capable and of getting back on track and capable of playing good football.

I like entertaining Football and admit to preferring it to sitting on 1-0 and shutting up shop but the game is about circumstances and other teams have a big say in those circumstances as does form and to an extent luck.

I think you're in a minority of one with a lot of your ideas, maybe we should just agree to disagree and maybe another thread will find something we can agree on...after all we're all Chelsea fans aren't we?

I pretty much agree with this post anyways. Carlo does have a lot of work to do and he touched on them in his press conference saying that Chelsea was rushing their passes and relying on the long ball too often. Carlo knows what he needs to do so I'm not worried about the team going forward. I think they will turn it around and Lamps will help with that a ton.

And yes, we're all Chelsea fans at the end of the day, nothing wrong with agreeing to disagree.

Quiet evening in Britain lads? Nothing good on TV?

Must be no idea why you've all decided to argue with this bloke for, if 6-0 doesn't impress him then I've no idea why you didn't just stop reading his posts from that point on.

Cricket starts shortly, surely that's preferable?

How about .. because he came on here shooting his mouth off left right and centre straight from the off and deserved all the stick he got. I wouldn't ask you to read back through the whole lot, but trust me that's how it was.

Maybe you're under the impression that he was ganged up on and is deserving of sympathy. I'm sure he thinks so. But he's wrong. And so are you if that's what you believe.

It's strange how different people can interpret things differently. I didn't think Spiller was in any way expressing sympathy. I thought he was saying this bloke was so far below the majority of Shed Enders that the best thing to do was ignore him.

Ideally you're probably right, it would be better to have just ignored his.. idiosyncrasies.. and moved on. However, without getting all over-analytical all over again, I think maybe it was the timing as much as the content that made it so difficult to ignore.

Hey don't make things up... I came here and gave my opinion... just because you didn't agree with my opinion it doesn't mean I was "shooting my mouth off." This is a message board for Chelsea fans to come and give their opinion on how they see things. I see things one way and you another. That's fine. I can accept it why can't you.

Settle Hutch...

Dear, dear this blokes got you so fired up you'll have a shot at anyone. Moi summarised my position superbly btw.

K,

1. I'm Canadian ::clap2:: so I have no idea what some of these comments are referring to.

Please do not associate me with this Canadian named 'Salad In' ..thought it was the name of a fast food takeaway? Perhaps he was referring to coaching midget Ice Hockey and Don Cherry is his hero. As a Canadian dual citizen for over 20 years I can honestly say that watching professional football in this country is like watching Accrington Stanley and if this is the level of football he is coaching.....enough said......Hutch give up unless your prepared to talk hockey, lacrosse, moose hunting or snow boarding because he might know a bit more about those subjects than he does about Chelsea's apparent midfield woes.

:(
