Great win, superb first half performances and because Gala were so poor it meant we didn't need to play at such a high tempo in the second half.

Lampard played very well in the middle considering he's been out of the team for a couple of weeks now and hopefully he carries that form into the Arsenal game.

Ramires didn't have the best of games, tossing away possession with worrying regularity, perhaps the 3 game suspension will do him some good?

Eto'o scoring at home again, who'd have thought? Clearly he is the best option up front now but he does seem to run out of steam around the 70th minute so I think Ba/Torres will be needing to replace him as games are in the later stages.

I'm still not happy with our decision making around the opposition area though, we could have easily scored more last night but for poor decisions.

You had an occasion in the first with Hazard getting to the byline and Eto'o come short rather than attack the near post which killed the move.

You had Willian getting into wide positions and just passing it back.

You had Torres shooting from a tight angle rather than playing a simple square ball for Schurrle to tap in.

Ramires was through the middle and took a poor shot on from 20 yards out rather than playing it simple to Schurrle on his right who had much more time and space.

That's the ones I can think of off the top of my head... We aren't smart enough, ruthless enough in around the opposition area and that's something I want to see us improve on.
Yeah, there were a few instances where Hazard and Oscar came forward near the byline to realise they had no support down the middle, then by the time the cavalry arrived, the move was dead because Gala pulled back in numbers. Needed to be more in sync at times. Also there were moments where Hazard and Oscar (as previously mentioned) overplayed the ball.

But still, I'm sure they would have played that match back and learned from those mistakes (I hope so at least). Definitely can't complain about the end result. I think we have an opportunity to reach the finals. I'm confident in our team. I want to draw:

1) Olympiacos (Utd are done I reckon) in the quarters

2) Barcelona in the semis

3) For old times sake, another Bayern Munich final

Can Courtois play against us?
I believe that he can, I've heard that there is no contract wording that could prevent him from doing so.  I think, and I could be very wrong here, that it only can be written if its in actual domestic leagues, not European competition.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was that filthy Gala player Felipe Melo. His tackles are disgraceful. Every time there was a foul, he was involved, across both legs.

Yes.  I'm almost positive that loaned players can compete against parent clubs in cup competitions.

Kinda looks like he did, I always wore giant supper padded ankle shin guards. Hated my ankles getting raked.

The player not being able to play against the parent club is a domestic ruling so wouldn't be relavent in europe

Let's hope for athletico then, can make all kinds of contract offers for an own goal or two

I think, maybe im wrong, that chelsea decides if cortouis can play or not. In the supercopa we he played, so i think that chelsea would let him

Jokanovic I know the fans disliked but I always thought that the fans liked Dalla Bona as he came through our ranks... It was only when he jumped ship that people disliked him.

Ambrosetti, the Italian Ryan Giggs, didn't really play enough for the fans to dislike, he was just underwhelming if anything.

And Emerson did alright in his one season with us I thought.

Thome done well for us especially against Barca at the bridge. Thought Luca should have started him in the away leg aswell

I wasn't saying they were rubbish or anything, Was just mentioning some names
