Chelsea v Luton (FA) Sun 24th Jan 2021 12:00 GMT

[carrickblue]

I didn't think he'd score. Not a great pen.

[Jezq8]

Oh boy

[Jezz]

Damn.

[abigsmurf]

Well that was a great confidence booster for Werner wasn't it...

[CFCCAN]

no confidence .....

[just]

Unbelievable. The only German to ever miss a penalty and he plays for us!

[Argo]

It can be argued that somebody like Gilmour will be wasted if he is asked to play so deep throughout his career. With his passing ability, I think somebody like him should be much more involved in attacks.

I think the opposite, his best performances come when he's dictating from deep, whenever he's played higher up he's looked pretty ordinary.

[Munkunku]

Werner needs to report to the embassy after the game to hand over his passport. He’s being disowned by his nation and becoming a stray man.

[Valerie]

Oohhhh.... I was prepared to sacrifice my points for the right score for Werner's confidence boost, but boy....

[Malta Blue]

Surely that has to be a red card!

Not sure, I think the other defender was there to stop it being a clear cut chance. Only chelsea can turn germans into piss poor penalty takers ?

[chiefBlueCFC]

Timo can’t buy a goal right now sheesh

[EdinburghBlue]

That was a poor pen, good height for the goalkeeper - he really needed that for confidence, gutted for the laddie.

[Munkunku]

@Gol15 that’s Jorginho’s fault btw. He should be on the pitch to take that penalty...

He also made an “attempt” to play the ball so wouldn’t have been sent off anyway as the penalty is deemed punishment enough.

Quick, somebody post a photo of Schweinsteiger!

[bluedave]

That’s going to hit Werner hard. Got to feel bad for him.

[Brutos]

Timo will be back in Germany me thinks next season

[General]

Funny how every striker the club purchases no matter what the reputation more often than not becomes a splendid failure. Exceptions in modern era - Only Drogba Anelka & Costa. A curse or pants coaching ?

[WeatherMan]

To be fair I think that was a good save rather than a poor penalty. The lad can't buy a goal can he ?
