Sorry but if we got to the CL final we would be playing until Saturday anyway.

The club needs a bit of income and for the wages these players are getting, two extra games is nothing. I'm sure these games will be a lot more relaxed and the players get to enjoy America for a few days.

City look dead in the water at the moment. Doubt they will have much following in America. While I expect we will have 90% of the support.

What does a player's wage have to do with their body's ability to recover?

It's a complete non-argument.

This game is the biggest waste of time. The players deserve a rest after a long season. I hope we just put in players like Benayoun who aren't going to be her next season anyway and rest the best players we have.

If we get injuries as a result of these pointless matches, I'll be angry!

This game is going to be such a non-event. The squad is knackered and won't want to injure themselves so they are not going to bother to put in 80%, let alone 100%. It's going to be such a bore draw.

At least in Pre-season the squad will be trying to regain their fitness and impress the manager.

They may be friendly but this'll bring our season total to 71 games.  76 if you include last pre-season   Really wasn't a great idea to introduce post-season exhibitions in a season like this.

Hopefully it'll be an easy going couple of games and feels like more of a holiday.

Seems pointless but might get to see some of our young guns play, which would be good. Sadly, we'll be obliged to play some big players due to it being an exhibition match, but I honestly don't know who would want to go to this kind of game? Yeah, you might be an American Chelsea or City fan, but as someone who has watched several of these "matches" in Australia, they are really, really depressing to watch, and even more depressing to be present at.

I'd rather watch Woking FC V Nuneaton Town than this money-spinning sojourn to the USA with sh*tty. We've played enough games this season, let our players have some rest.

Just play all of our fringe and loan players, no point involving Mata, Cahill, Oscar etc.

These are friendlies. The pace will be lot lower to league games. I really don't get why people are so angry over these. The club needs every penny they can get and these promo-games will generate some. Rafa will play our big stars sparingly. You don't have to watch the games if you don't want...

This will give a chance for players like Marin, Benayoun, Ba and Torres to show other teams what they can do so we can sell them (except for Benayoun whose contract is up)

Really couldn't give a crap about these games really, I might watch one of them but I won't be going out of my way. I just hope the players come out of it OK and the young lads get plenty of game time. Finally I hope whoever thought it was a good idea to play these two games at the end of this season in particular when we've played over 60 games this season gets a right slap.

This should be our team for both games:

---------------Blackman

Ferreira-Christensen-Cahill--Ake

Benayoun--RLC----Mikel----Marin

--------------Torres---Ba

Is Lewis Baker injured or something?

One week won't hamper recovery time (unless they get injured).

They play Football because they love to. They're playing Football. Don't understand why it would bother them.

Read that both teams agreed to this to make up for FFP for not making it out of the CL group stage.

Playing at a professional level is not like playing kickabout in the park. It doesn't matter if you love it or not, physiologically, it's a whole different ball game.

Professional athletes play at 90-100% of their body's physical capabilities. Every time you push that limit you risk the body's ability to recover. No player would ever say no to playing a game of football, so players are not in the best position to judge their own recovery time. Clubs need to step in and be responsible and say to players no - you need a break. No one buys a Ferrari to thrash it around the block, it requires care and maintenance.

I am angry because it risk's injury. Any kind of funny turn and a player could end up with a cruciate ligament injury no matter what the pace of the game is. I don't see why they couldn't arrange these games for pre season.

There are lot of players in our squad who didn't play 70 games. Romeu, Marin, Ba, Cahill, Lampard, Mikel, JT, Hilario, Turnbull, Ake, Bertrand, Cole...none of these played too much during the season. Give 20min cameos to the big name players and you are out nice and clean.

Judging by the possible team given above i would have to disagree...I dont think lots of money is offered for the second string to come out and play...These yanks will want to see all the big boys..Im sure some of those named above will get minutes though
