We always seem to start slow which bothers me & never kick off till the 2nd half. Would like us to push out of the blocks for once. 4-2-3-1 is the only way Torres will be effective.

 
The match against Valencia next week makes this a tricky one for team selection. At home to Swansea should be a piece of cake but we can't afford to take it for granted. At the same time we do need to have a fresh lineup for the Valencia game as it will be very difficult out there.

The players who ended up putting in a 120 minute shift on wednesday will probably get rested for this one.

Personally, I'd play Ivanovic instead of Bosingwa particularly as Swansea have a lot of pace.

I don't think Josh has a hope of starting this match. Based on his CC performance he desperately needs to go out on loan and get a run of games with a second tier premiership side. I don't really understand why we didn't let him do that.

Mata Torres Anelka

Josh Mikel Meireles

Cole Terry Luiz Bos

Cech

Josh and Meireles will provide a lot of support for strikers from midfield. Mata and Anelka will provide from the flanks as well.

Mikel will be the main man in the midfield, he has been really good this season. Spraying some passes from midfield to fullbacks is the main attacking task for him.

I will give Ramires a rest, let's see how do we play without him. His individual skills are brilliant, but I rarely see him linking well with teammates. Might come in for Meireles/Josh at 70th minute.

As we're playing high line, Luiz favor this one. Cole and Bosingwa will attack from the flanks as they always did and Mikel will always try to cover them. Mikel will plays a very important role here.

Speaking about Lampard, we already made our first move. I do think Josh/Ramires deserve to start more than Lampard.

Irrelevant or not, but you could also say it's pointless to justify picking Ivanovic because the opposing team has fast players. He is the better defender, but not particularly fast.

dont wanna go to deep into this discussion,but it doesnt matter ivanovic is slower.Ivanovic is always on the right place even against a quick player.Bosingwa is faster but he is reguraly too late on the place of action when he had to defend.

but the biggest problem is the organisation in my opinion.ivanovic rb ,luiz,terry,cole is a big difference with any other set up in the back.

 
Anyone going to this game should know that for the third time this season (every game so far) the District Line will have no service between Edgware Road and High Street Kensington.

Honestly the underground does my head in. Its matchday. There are 42K odd people trying to get about.

Get the f**kin tubes working properly for once.....

 
It's the beginning of the season, no point resting loads of players, especially since most was rested against Fulham.

Could go with Mikel in midfield. And with Drogba back I'd really like to see him play, but I also want Torres and I wouldn't want one of them to play as a winger.

 
Was quite impressed by Romeu, so maybe stick him in instead of Lampard. Can always bring Frank on later if need be.

If Torres dosent start , how will that affect his state of mind after Sunday ? Id play Anelka , both Torres goals came from passes he put through , Kalou shouldnt even be considered , he just wont pass the ball at the right time , Malouda is the same , if we want to get Torres scoring these two wont help him .

Well, if we want to play the 4-3-3 as it should be played, then, unfortunately, Kalou is the only attacking player suited to the role that we have.
