Chelsea v Villa today 11/12/22

How are we looking on the pitch? Any youngsters that are standing out and are we looking organized as a team?
Hutchinson looks our best and most confident player. Webster good on the ball. The lad who came on for Broja looks quick.

The rest is the same slow dross.

We literally get a serious injury every 1-2 games at the moment. It's ridiculous.

Chalobah also injured pre game . sh*tshow all around
Speaking purely for on the pitch (ofcourse on a human level the injuries are horrific) I don't think we'll miss Broja that much if I'm honest but if Trevoh is injured while Forfana will still be rusty then that's a major blow.

And I'm also worried about Silva now, he made it pretty clear the world cup is what was the main motivation of the last couple of years so unless he has a burning desire to win the PL (which he'd get one shot at most at with us far from favourites) i fear he may finally succumb to father time.

He has been awful though, and seems to be phoning in his performances for us.
We had to get a dud from Arsenal eventually, law of averages.

Hopefully these rumours a few months back of PSG wanting him are true, I think it's best for both parties to go our separate ways.

The path to Auba really started when we elected to let Tammy and Giroud go, while signing Lukaku. Yesterday's game was another reminder of what a terrible decision that was.

I disagree as I've already stated on the Giroud thread.

He was starting to struggle badly with the pace of the league and was crap against us in the UCL. Yes we totally f**ked up replacing him but that's a different argument.

Broja's injury is obviously a massive downer on the whole game, doesn't look good for him but let's hope for the best.

Overall positive though, the youngsters putting in a decent performance against pretty much villa's first team. Cucurella, Hall and Hutchinson all been impressive, Jorgi has put in some good long balls.

Aubameyang played like he's just been at the World Cup and he's taking it easy.

I worry about this as well. Bit like a holiday diet, once the target has been achieved then it all comes piling back on again. Now that Silva's world cup plans have finished will he decline rapidly?

Are we thinking of renewing his contract? This has to be his last full season, maybe offer him a role as a player-coach going forward.

Considering this was mainly youngsters with a few first team players against a pretty strong Villa PL team then to only lose it 1-0 and have a few good performances is a positive.

I am thinking for the rest of this season. I think we still need a top class Silva in the coming months

I'm a little concerned about how more even our games are becoming.

Even in the darkest performances of Sarri and Tuchel we dominated most if not all the underlying metrics, this is getting to Lampard post lockdown level of teams "competing" with us in those areas.
