Big decision for the Ashley Cole sending off.

That was not a clear cut handball, and the worst person (position wise) to see it was the linesman....who gave it !

Remarkable match. We blew it though. But if that's what Grant means when he talks about entertaining football, I'd settle for dull 1-0 wins any day.

 
So that's Grant's version of entertaining football?

Okay.

It was exciting and gut wrenching all at the same time.

We drew.

We had two defenders get straight reds (not Grant's fault I hasten to add).

We saw Sheva actually score a decent goal.

Ballack appears to remember he's being paid by us to play football.

I guess Grant can talk today about our attack minded, positive football and just forget the result.

So who have we got defending against Newcastle? If I wasn't on my hols in the sun I'm ready to volunteer if required.

 
What the hell did they do when leading 4:3, playing still forward. 2 minutes left at the clock and they stood in the defence like ********

I was just about to post the same thing and thought better of it.

Otherwise I might have been told where to get off being bitchy and negative.

I enjoyed the game, except for the last goal!

Grant can't be blamed though, he had to change Lampard for Ballack and actually Ballack played really well so enforced sub that worked.

The only option he had later was SWP on for a striker and he did that.

Otherwise what other changes could he make during that game? Just madness really it was going from one extreme to another. When Ballack scored I really thought it was over so credit to Villa and O'Neill for the neutral they would say Villa deserved a point and on balance I think they would be right.

So I actually don't have anything bad to say about what Grant did today.

But please, no mention of how wonderful our football was after the match Grant - you can only say that when we do excite people and WIN!

it's a vicious cycle, trying to fill gaps with these half fit players they either get injured like sheva or do something stupid when tired and get sent off like carvalho.

villa were good and o'neill would have been rightly furious if the ballack free kick had won it after the penalty/red. They played well; it's impressive how much pressure they take off the individually terrible players they have in defense with the way they attack.

 
Someone should look that f*cking ref up and put a bullet in his head. F*cking t*at shouldn't be allowed to be alive!

That was not a penalty and it certainly wasn't a red card!

Riccys tackle however was a red. Horrible thing to do even if he didn't actually hit the opponent (might have been a slight touch). Nice acting from the Villa-t*at too.

We have JT out and are now in a period when we play almost every day (seems like it), so why the h*ll make a tackle like that. He didn't need to!

Another thing. Sweepy needs to learn how to defend. He lost the ball and just walked away. The result: freekick and Villa make it 3-3.

Speaking of the goal, where was the defence? Nobody picked Laursen up

Overall it was an entertaining game with a bad outcome. Sheva had a good one today and I think it's a bit odd to take him off instead of Pizarro. Again. F*ck off Avram!

His substitutions were crap of the highest order. I don't care that we have had a good run under Grant, he's still a crap manager who should be kicked out from the club, town and country. Go back to Israel, you f*cking c*nt!

Now we're f*cked. No title and no fun. Grant ruined my christmas

To be fair one of the goals came when we had 10 men, well actually 9, one was atrocious defending (the first), one was appalling goalkeeping, and one was also pretty poor defending as well. We conceded 4 entirely unecessary goals, none of which hd anything to do with tactics, all of which were poor errors (one being the refs, I don't think the 4th was a penalty but I would need to see it on TV first, streams are always hard to judge by) and the other was not so much.

What we did get shown (again) is how much we lack pace and quality outwide. Villa shoed time and time again how dangerous you can be when you are blesse with pace and width whereas we were pedestrian in possession.

Where Grant annoyed me was settling for 3-3 with his 2 substitutions ni the last 10 minutes. At that point we gaev up trying to win (yes I know we scored after that)

 
So let's get this straight.

Drogba: out injured then off to the ANC

Frank Lampard: injured

JT: injured

Ashley Cole: suspended for 3 games

Ricky Carvalho suspended for 3 games

Carlo: injured

Petr Cech: half fit/off form

Add to that Essien, Kalou, Mikel off to the ANC and I'm not exactly left with a lot of confidence for the rest of the season.

To be fair (yes it's me talking) who wouldn't have settled for a draw when we were 2-0 down? Can't argue with Ricky's sending off, it looked very similar to Crouch's attack on Mikel the other week; not sure about A. Cole's - didn't get a clear look at it, especially with so much happening - I was still typing up something about Ricky's sending off when Ballack scored, and thinking surely it's over now when they got their 4th.
