im going to the porto game on tuesday and was wondering what the atmosphere is like in the east stand?

It could best be described as "tranquil". Having been up there on the odd occasion, it struck me as the stand for those whose singing days are well behind them. Lots of our older supporters are to be found in the east stand. If you can get them roused with a rendition of Carefree or 10 men went to mow it would be nothing short of a miracle. I'm going to the game myself so will look out for you leading the singing...

 
I had a season ticket in the East stand for the very first season it was built. We lost our first game to Carlisle 2-0. We sat in stunned silence then and to be truthful it hasn't changed much since.

East Stand Atmosphere is an anagram of "Mad Peter shat on seats".

Interesting that the rude button doesn't recognise that shat is the past tense of sh*t!

Had the misfortune of being placed at East upper for the Juventus game in February, as I didn't have enough loyaltypoints to secure tickets at MHL or the Shed. It was dead quiet up there. There was an old man with a walkingstick sitting next to me, but all he said all night was 'oh, dear'. The view is quite good though, sat at row 1 right by the cameras.

 
Great view, crap atmosphere. I got told to watch my language and sit down, bad haha.

 
sat in the east stand last night for porto game, had a padded seat and a meal before the game, the meal in the copthorne hotel was excellent and i do recommend it, it was all part of the ticket ( a mate of mine as a centenary club season ticket) meal programme all free before the game, anyway he's in spain so i had his tickets (free of course)

the atmosphere was piss poor to say the least, most wernt even watching the game just sitting round talking, and most buggered off for half time drinks with 10 mins to go

the only swearing i herd was from my son, and i had to warn him a few times, as we were on someone elses ticket

great view though

if my mates tickets become available again, i would do it all again, who needs atmosphere when its free

all in all it turned out the atmosphere was indeed,sh*t,about 30 people joined in with carefree and 10 men,unforunately that was as good as it got (utterly crap),we arrived late as we got caught in traffic and when we were going to our seat the people we had to get past seemed furious that they would have to stand up for 2 seconds to let them past.

hopefully next time i go i will be in the mh or the shed

as for the memorable quote,thanks for the laugh.
