Worked pretty well for us with Churchill. Had we kept Chamberlain we could be speaking German right now.

Just pointed out that Zelensky from a private point of view has benefited a considerable amount.

Eastern European politics are far too intertwined and complexed for us in the West to properly understand, however we always have to stick our noses in.

My issue is the illegal seizure of assets and properties by our own British Government from Russian citizens based on nothing but their nationality. Seems kind of racist to me.

Reminds me of the World Cup Football Manager tournament held in London around 11 month ago. A bunch of the contestants were tested for performance enhancing substances despite it being Football Manager because it was an official Fifa tournament.

So you dont have an opinion on Russia illegally invading and annexing large parts of a country. No problem... but you do have an issue with the UK govt decision to sanction Russians and believe it to be racist.

I have no issue with Russians, just ones who continue to prop up a dictatorship and whatever shape they come in. We can get onto elected dictators around the world but the point stands. Countries dont invade unless they have expansionist ideas and policies, funnily enough, Moscow, Washington and Tel Aviv all share the same outlook on expansionism... Europe is on its own. What will be the excuse when Russian bombs start falling on European cities outside of Ukraine?

Ukrainian entry into Russia is a way of securing better negotiation rights when both sides do sit face to face. Ukraine would not have invaded Russia. It didnt even have the strength to regain the provinces Russia annexed using its hybrid strategy.

Most youngsters from those regions have been sent to die. I know, a mate of mine from Crimea is dead after being drafted. Putin, Trump, Netanyahu, these are men who dont believe in anything but their own power and bank balances.

As for outrage of invasions. Yes, I was exally appalled at Afghanistan and Iraq, that gave rise to the current events in the middle east. Doesnt make those right, or Russia's invasion of Ukraine, that is ongoing and getting nastier by the day as Russia targets civilian infrastructure.

Putin is reclaiming/invading land he rightfully/wrongfully views as his own dependant where you draw the line in history. He was threatened by NATO attempting once again to include all Russias neighbouring states into its conglomerate. Essentially stationing working armies at the border. Putin acted first, probably down to the brain tumour.

Netanyahu invaded Gaza after the TERRORIST group HAMAS ILLEGALLY crossed the border into the Holy Land and murdered women and babies. They then hide behind civilian aid stations and hospitals so as to avoid repercussions, unfortunately this time those underhand tactics haven’t worked. Iran via Hezbollah and the Houthis was attacking Israel as it was threatened and brainwashed by its own medieval religious fanaticism. Israel has every right to exist and every right to defend itself against such open Anti Semitism. Turning a blind eye to people undermining and attacking the Jewish people is exactly how the Nazis got so much power so quickly.

Trump is the ONLY US President to not increase his private wealth while in office, he’s not an expansionist in the slightest his whole aim is to make the US more self reliant and ergo not be as affected by other changes in world politics (China & Russia) and held to ransom or ridiculous reliance by ‘World’ bodies on the US’s input ie NATO.

Like you said though we clearly view the world very differently so let’s just leave it there x

 
There is a a theory with Chamberlain that we were just not ready yet that changed afterwards as we started preparing for war.

Don't forget Churchill was considering fighting both the Soviets over Finland and the Germans over Poland someone said that was impossible and so it became just Germany.

One point if I may... Israel has invaded and bombed Gaza on numerous occasions, well before the atrocities of Oct 7th, and is illegally occupying and expanding into the West Bank . Anyway, that's it, take care mate

You miss the part of Israel, supported and supplied by the US - has now moved into both Lebanon and Syria. Syria has been no threat to Israel under its new leaders, and has been bombed on more than 100 occassions and you miss the part about Israeli settlers annexing the West Bank, who under its fat leader Abbas has not threatened Israel. That's all called expansion.

Actually, Churchill was involved in the British 1918-20 invasion of Russia....
