Giving your own players stick

There was a bit of 'What a load of Rubbish!' Around the time when there were banners in the shed saying Neal Out! Funny as the following season we won the league! Rotherham away 6-0 Forest away around 92? 7-0 humorous singing we want 4 we want 5 as the goals kept going in!

Interesting in the early 80s as the home grown players that got promotion in 77 had left, from memory just had senior pros like Chopper,Micky Droy,Gary Locke, Ian Britton and Clive Walker, the next batch were mainly poor. David Stride, Micky Nutton, John Sitton, Kevin Hales, Tim Elmes.

I'm sure they tried their best so it was funny that there were only certain players singled out as unpopular with the crowd. With no money, apart from Johny B and Micky Fillery and Sometimes Peter Rhodes-Brown. We suffered for a period without home grown talent coming through

Lee Frost there's another Richard. But we really were utterly potless back then and couldn't afford to buy anyone. I remember about that time Hurst was the manager and in the programme it had a whole page spread that we put in a bid for Andy Ritchie. It was so rare that we bought players those days that actually putting in a bid for someone was in itself considered to be an achievement. Of course Ritchie turned us down and joined Brighton!.

Remember Robert Fleck we chase him for a couple of years and when we did sign him from Norwich he couldn't score he even miss a couple of open goals it didn't take long for fan to turn on him.

Lee Frost works in the removals game with a few of old skool CFC and he helped me move house earlier in the year. I have masses of CFC memorabilia (as we all do) and every other boxed was marked up “CFC this†and “CFC thatâ€, what was funny and I wouldn’t knock him for it but he never said a single word about CFC…

What was even funnier was, here I am over 50 and I was really excited about having an ex CFC player in my house !! L

How many Chelsea players can you think of who've had our own fans turn against them?

Trevor Aylott springs to mind. He made a name for himself scoring in the 3-1 against the bin dippers, and it rapidly went downhill from there. Rember a game when half the shed were chanting AYLOTT OFF. Couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for the bloke. He was standing there hand on hips shaking his head.

Alan Mayes weren't too popular either. Not too many cheers when his name was announced on the tannoy. We were coming back from somewhere on the train- passed Swindon where we got him from. The general consensus was shame he weren't on the train so we could sling him back.

This sort of treatment was far more common back then. In my view football fans are far too forgiving now eg. Potato head Rooney holds Man U to ransom post season angling for a pay rise, comes back then the fans chant his name. If we're honest JT did similar when Man City were interested a few years back. Drogba angled for moves too don't forget, but well let them off.

Back on track an ex- player who got some. stick was Clive Walker, who had the temerity to score against us in the semi against Sunderland. Can't remember whether he was given a rough time before the goal, but do recall a fat bloke chasing him around.

Any memories?
What ever happened to that fat bloke? wot a game that semi was!!!!, remember beasant against Norwich getting loads of abuse, "one Kevin Hitchcock" rang out around bridge after his second mare of the afternoon. On a side note Beasants son plays for Stevanage and last week he was injured and couldn't play so the ressie keeper played, but guess who was drafted in on the bench at the ripe old age of 55? Beasant senior!!!

Lots of anxiety about and groans, your useless from the fans when Graham Wilkins was on the ball.

Wasn't the hefty lad who gave chase to Clive Walker a solicitor? Bit of a crazy night. We got locked in the Palmeston. I'm told there were that many waiting for West Ham at Parsons Green only a fraction of them actually made it onto the platform

Who remembers a hot Saturday around 80-81 against w-ham 0-0 with a couple of minutes to go, who scores the winner for w-ham.... Graham Wilkins!!!!

The loudest groan i ever heard when a chelsea players name was announced on the teamsheet was for Dave Mitchell. To compound it, that same game he set off to chase a goal kick and the ball hit him on the back of the head. The whole ground (probably 15000 crowd) laughed. For sheer hostility id say Falco and Cannoville. We wernt having those 2. Also Tony Cascarino for his celtic connections wasnt given a warm welcome. We certainly didnt embrace diversity back then    Around the same time, Tommy Langley got absolutley slaughtered after leaving us for those c**ts from Shepherds bush the day before the season started. The shed were "gonna shoot Tommy Langley!" Another ex who got it was Gordon judas Durie. 6000 Blues at sh*te hart lane crucified him non stop. And boy did it get to him, he had a mare, but those 2 are slightly off topic.

I remember that game agains the Y***S and I never seen a old player get so much abuse mind you he did deserve it as he kept on saying that he wanted to go back to Rangers instead he

went to the Scum in North London, Also who remember Robert Fleck it didn't take us long to turn on him.

And I remember when Micky Fillery sign for QPR that it was said that his mum would not talk to him for a while as she was Chelsea through & through.

Yeah, I remember Durie, stuff in the press about he wanted to go North, we all thought back to Scotland, not North London...

Highlights here:

Love the reporter from about 3:13 onwards..."most of the trouble was from the stands, not the terraces"Was in gate 13 that night, wasn't pretty....

Can't forget Winston Borgarde!!! 50 grand a week for five years!! Started I think 4 and sub 8 times. Didn't even live here in his last couple of years. Easy jet Amsterdam to heathrow every day!! Was in the canteen at the training ground, when players were eating lunch, he sat on his own as no one sat with him. He trained with this youth team as he wouldnt leave as he was under contract and no one was stupid enough to equal his money.

I remember the whole of the Park Lane chanting "Judas where are ya" at the Durie game. Never showed!

My mates had season tickets in the East Upper for a while and there was a bloke who used to have it in for Kerry Dixon.  Remember us all p*ssing himself as he stood up and gave the w*nker sign when King Kerry missed a decent chance once.

We booed Teddy Maybank outside the cottage at Fulham one night, he got the doorman to give as some free tickets.
