Good football movies, are there any?

There's a good episode of 'Whatever happened to the Likely Lads?' about football. I can't say more without spoiling it and it may be on Youtube.

A classic episode. Was on telly last week.

Yes! I actually bought the box set on the back of watching that episode! Brilliant!

As for Sean Bean and 'When Saturday Comes', remember watching that in a hotel in Cardiff, the night before our FA Cup final against Arsenal, got me in the mood big time.

Also, a bit of mindless fun, and plenty of Eastenders cameo's, I give you I.D:

Not seen it in a while, but loved it in my teens!

Sod it, off to town in a bit, gonna look for the Blu Ray!

for those of us with slightly older memories, there is from 1982. The world cup: A captains tale, is a drama about west auckland f.c who played in the sir thomas lipton trophy, a precursor to the world cup starring dennis waterman, nigel hawthorne, richard griffiths, is well worth a watch.

What was the one with Ian McShane in it, played for a team called Leicester Forest?

That's the one, I saw it at the pictures. I liked the way they blended it into Forest being at Wembley in the league cup.

I have been trying to think of a football film I have enjoyed and I cant think of any except Damn Utd, then again I am becoming a big fan of Michael Sheen.

Hated The Football Factory not that it was a bad film I have just hoped for many years that someone would make a decent film about Chelsea fans and what it was really like particularly in the 70's and 80's. If only I had the talent or money, even if it was fictional I just want something realistic.

Not a film but a TV programme. In an episode of Minder there is a scene at the start where Terry is at the Bridge and is called to the office to take a call from Arthur. If I can find it I'll post.

The Damned United is one of the best. Mike Bassett England Manager is quite an amusing satire.

Also love this scene from Kes:

One Jimmy Grimble! seem to remember watching this quite a lot when I was younger.

Also not a film but tv series called "Dream Team" Carl Fletcher was my hero.
