Happy 85th birthday Sunday to Roy Bentley

[geezer]

Getting this one in early because I won't be around to post tomorrow which will be the 85th birthday for the great and legendary Roy Bentley.

Have a great day Roy and I hope the boys give you three points for one of the all time Chelsea greats.

Happy Birthday Roy:

Obviously I never saw him play, but I know a few folk who have and they'd put him in their best 11 Chelsea side of all time!

[geezer]

He's going to be brought out onto the pitch at the end of the game tomorrow in company with JT, Ron Harris and Dennis Wise, our four captains who have lifted the major trophies ever won by CFC.

I've had the pleasure of meeting Roy a couple of times as has Stacy, my daughter and he has always been the most charming of people. One of Stacy's greatest treasures is her 18th birthday card which I got signed by JT, Ron and Roy amongst many, many others including Peter Osgood shortly before his tragic early death.

Bloody hell, I didn't realise he was still alive!

Nor did I realise he was captain when we won the league... shows what I know.

Happy birthday!

Great to see Roy dancing about on the Pitch after the game, Happy birthday to him he looked like he was enjoying it today

[Gem]

He was loving it out there, great to see our 4 greatest captains on the pitch together at the same time.

Many happy returns Roy, got more moved than me!

[ethicalstrategy]

He loved it and so did the crowd. He's a pretty spritely 85.

Good to see him happy and warmly welcomed on his birthday - true Chelsea man. Happy Birthday.

[geezer]

He showed more movement in the five minutes he was on the pitch than JFH did all the time he was here.

[Blue Celery]

I've had the pleasure of speaking to him for nearly 40 minutes over the phone last month. He is a class act and is as sharp as ever.

Happy Birthday Captain.
