Henry to Barcelona. Or not.

If Henry leaves Arsenal then they have to sign another great striker. Otherwise they won't go far this season. When Henry was injured this season Arsenal were on their knees.:
They will definitely be signing a new striker however they may struggle to get the player they want (whoever that may be) - anyone that signs for Arsenal just now does so in the knowledge that in a year's time they will be looking for a new manager, hardly a stable environment to come into. No player with real ambitions of winning titles and possibly the champions league is going to sign for Arsenal just now and hence they will be looking at a players a little below that level. Don't be surprised to see them linked with Tevez however he would not be the answer to the gap left by Henry as he wouldn't score anything like enough goals for them.

I would say Trezeguet may have been an option but with Henry leaving and Wenger on his way he may opt to look elsewhere. However he may be prepared to take the gamble due to the fact he is getting on a bit now.

Lets look at the positives from this move

- Gunners are upset, their weekend is ruined.

- The Premiership ((at the moment)) is a two horse race

Negatives

- We have to put up with tributes of him for weeks, at least up till the beginning of the season

- Bloody Barca's attack, one striker will go, and it'll be probably be Eidur, and I'd be gutted if he signed for the Mancs

Another positive is that it'll give us a break from the constant Chelsea bashing. And on the subject of nice little diversions, if Sven goes to Man City, just imagine how much media attention that will draw.

At that rate, Jose would have to come out with something marginally certifiable to get a mention

I think they might surprise everyone and sign Owen. For nine million quid he'll be an absolute bargain. He'll fit right in with how Arse attack opposition teams. And, so long as he stays fit, will bag a truck load of goals for them.

I'm actually surprised we didn't have a go for him, to be honest. 27 years old. Almost back to his best. Good price tag. Proven performer in the EPL. Being from Liverfool notwithstanding (can you ever really overlook that, though?), he would've been a great option for us. Especially playing up front with Drogba.

quote from the arsenal site:

I just hope his presents really upsets one of Ronnie, Eto'o and Messi, who hopefully wont get so much playing time

so now hes left arsenal, his gift buying ability is brought into question. spiteful lot them goonies.

Lol great grammar there.

And Brian, if we did sign Owen he'd spend all season injured, him and Robben would be physio buddies.

Hear that? Thats the sound of a thousand Arsenal hearts shattering Or is that Henry's bank balance exploding?..... Oh well.

I don't think he will be. Wenger has always seen out his contracts and I suspect he will do the same at Arsenal and be there until the end of the forthcoming season. He may well end up at Barcelona after that though.

Well yes, I do expect it to be after his contract runs out, since it's only for another year. It would not surprise me however if it were to happen now.

It would be interesting indeed if Wenger went to Barcelona but personally I think his philosophy of football and development contrasts at a deeper level with Barcelona's. Barcelona's attacking philosophy is about flair and individual skill and always has been, but Wenger's teams are based around pace, athleticism and passing. Barcelona also pride themselves on nurturing the top young talent around the world "from cradle to the grave"- Wenger prefers a scatter-gun approach, snapping up the most promising academy/lower-league talent available, and if Barcelona are to maintain tradition then they will find his methods very unappealing indeed.

It is not at all in the intention of the English club to let leave its striker high-speed motorboat
Exactly.
Henry is now apparently threatening to sue France Football. Who would believe there'd be all this fuss over a striker high-speed motorboat. Must have been the beam of indices wot done it.
Is this case still pending? Hope he's got a good legal team, as he'll have a hard time convincing the judge.
