John Hoy was their main man in those days, he used to work in the Printing Industry (as i did for 22 years). Their other main feller was the Welsh bloke Jenkins, who rumour had it lived in Bow.top photo's, thanks for this...where did you get the big picture ?
I'm sure Jenkins used to live in PengeJohn Hoy was their main man in those days, he used to work in the Printing Industry (as i did for 22 years). Their other main feller was the Welsh bloke Jenkins, who rumour had it lived in Bow.
haha, I knew ''social studies'' was useful for something !!The picture of Chelsea Arsenal in the shed I nicked out of a social studies book when I was at school believe it or not.
cfc kingy.......i just cant believe that story....its amazing........you WENT TO SCHOOLMay well of done, The 'Bow' location was just a rumour heard in idle 'chit-chat'. On this subject (and according to here-say) DH was a Wandsworth boy, heard 3 years ago that B runs a hardware shop in SW London, not saying where as you never know, walls have ears etc, Donkin lived around the Stoke Newington area, Ronnie Parish (Spurs top guy 1969-72) was Bethnal Green and grew up with the original 'Mile End' mob. SS was from the Barking area, as was BG (further East towards Upminster). 'Harry the Dog' (Millwall) died in Crawley ( long story but got a kicking off him and his crew on the top deck of a bus in 1974), and as i recall when the General's profile was raised, in those days because he lived outside of London, initially some negative comments were heard here and there, which were proved to be false as we all know.I'm sure Jenkins used to live in Penge
That's what i thought as well Mike. He used to travel to home games by train via Victoria. There is a lot i dont know......I always thought Hickey was the original GENERAL in the original headhunters....and wasnt he from Tonbridge or tunbridge wells.
He was from the Tunbridge Wells area I remember over 30 years ago going on the piss we my mates from work we got a train to Tun Wells one of the blokes from work lived in High Brooms told us about the pub he drank in Camden Road in Tunbridge Wels Everybody was a bit dubious going in there I decided to go in first as usual with these pubs everybody turned around darts stopped in mid air pub fell silent then a voice boomed out "allo mate" it was hicky and the rest of his mob the local from work now sounding a bit relieved said "trust you P-----t to konow this mob"In his book he states he comes from Tonbridge wells. Star mentions the "Original" general so maybe he means someone else???? When I first starting going to Chelsea some of the older fellas knew some of his group, I remember meeting 'em at Man city away and a large number of them were from Kent.
Did they also say "Stay on the road. Keep clear of the moors" lol!sparkplug, on 17 Nov 2013 - 12:21 PM, said:He was from the Tunbridge Wells area I remember over 30 years ago going on the piss we my mates from work we got a train to Tun Wells one of the blokes from work lived in High Brooms told us about the pub he drank in Camden Road in Tunbridge Wels Everybody was a bit dubious going in there I decided to go in first as usual with these pubs everybody turned around darts stopped in mid air pub fell silent then a voice boomed out "allo mate" it was hicky and the rest of his mob the local from work now sounding a bit relieved said "trust you P-----t to konow this mob"
