In our current situation could Rafa have help from these players

we wouldve had more points had we kept lukaku and he was starting instead of torres

and de bruyne couldve definitely contributed. i know its easy to say this in hindsight, but its still true
At the time Lukaku hadn't shown anything near the form he has at West Brom, not to mention we still had Danny.

I wanted us to keep KDB cause he was good enough to get into the team but I'm glad we didn't now, he's playing well in a role we lack players in and will hopefully come in next season. Had he stayed he would probably have been played on the wing and been given 10 min apps here and there.

Apparently the board has told Benitez to forget about new signings and use fringe players e.g. Benayoun, Malouda.

I'd be interested to know if Benitez did actually ask to recall any of our loanees.

Out of those listed, the obvious candidates to get some first team action are Lukaku, McEachran & Chalobah. Those three (and Piazon) would all be handy to have available right now - to the club they actually belond to. I can understand the argument that they are doing well on loan and at least getting match action but all could have got match action with US. At some point we have to stop all this loaning players out and actually give them a f**king game. Who is to say next season any of them will still get a chance OR the season after? As much as it may well look like we are helping with their development, to date we can see that really hasn't been the case. I'd call it more of a cop-out. We just don't have the balls to risk youngsters and would rather have the reliable good old Paulo Ferreira on the bench than a Chalobah or Josh.

IF we get past Brentford and face Boro in the next round of the cup I won't hold my breath in seeing him play for Boro. No doubt we won't let him play, just in case he makes completes mugs of us and helps them knock us out the cup.

Looking at the bench in our recent games, makes a lot of sense to loan players out - f**kING IDIOTS running this club.

So, i'm reading between the lines here...

the board have NO confidence in the FSW at all...hence no money to strengthen...

Hence...he IS going at the end of the season NO MATTER WHAT!!! :JC_doubleup:

WV2 happy!!!!

:good2:

I don't know if I can wait that long. February, March, April and May are going to be thoroughly miserable months.

Going back to our bench, last night was typical again. Hilario, Ferriera, JT. Ake, Marin, Yossi and Ba.

I would always start Hilario ahead of Turnbull.

Paulo, great servant, great bloke, but what IS the point of having him on the bench?

Ake. Fair enough - all for youngsters getting their chance and it's good to see but we know he has practically zero chance of actually getting on the pitch.

JT. If he is fit enough to be on the bench why the hell isn't he in the side - if not from the kick-off at least during the second half when we are protecting a lead?

Marin. Good sub to have on the bench and maybe should have come on for Bertand when it was still only 1-0.

Yossi. Surely just making up the numbers. This is where we could have Piazon, Josh, Chalobah - players who are our future.

Ba. Would have like to have seen him start otr at least come on around the hour mark. To bring him on when FSW did was an error of calamitous proportions.

Yeah I always get a knot in my stomach when I see Turnbull in goal...I rate Hilario over him any day...!

May is just too long to wait for the FSW to go.

For the first time last night i just couldnt be bothered to watch the game.

I felt the same way last night. Had the game on, watched it. Felt no stress and anxiety after they scored the first. Felt pretty normal after they equalized. After the whistle I thought "Maybe they actually sack Benitez now" and felt positive for a moment.

When he's steering our Tapas-cart I don't really bother to get excited or deflated and that feels wrong.

Essien, KDB, Josh, Chalobah could all do a job right now. You can't honestly say Ake is better than any of those, and yet he's the one on the bench.

Essien makes the Real Madrid team but can't make the Chelsea squad!.....and you wonder who the f**k is running the 'puzzle palace' at the Bridge, because clearly it is someone that doesn't have an ounce of grey matter between their ears when it comes to football.
