Indeed, this is good news. We can't afford to lose Ivanovic now, the lad has been terific so far this season.

Great news, especially with the rumor machine swirling.

It still boggles my mind that he barely played for us until Hiddink got here. It wouldve been awful to see him blossoming like he has recently in the colors of another team.

Been our best defender this season for sure.

I disagree. While he's been excellent, Ashley Cole was exceptional before his injury and JT has put in some earthbreakingly good performances.

Hmmm...our opinions differ then.

I consider best to be, consistently very good.

Cole and Terry, while putting in some exceptional performances, have also had some quite ordinary games. Ivanovic has always looked very solid, and his consistency I consider to be important.

Put it this way, it's amazing how much of a revelation he has been in our defence this season. Didn't expect it, but he's really lifted his game given the first team chances.

He's come a long way since that questionable performance against Man Utd in the Community Shield. And to be honest, we have never felt Bosingwa's absence due to his good form at right back. And that's not even his favoured position! Once Bosingwa comes back, he could well become the first choice partner of JT, and offer much more certainity when we defend through the centre.

I'm all for him signing a new deal to shoo away Perez and his "Ooh-We-Can-Sign-Anyone" ego. But when will Joey renew his contract?! His contract expires much more sooner and we can't possibly release him on a free as his form can improve manifolds.

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic may have ended talk of a new contract at Stamford Bridge by admitting it would be a dream to play for Real Madrid.

The 25-year-old, a £9.7million signing from Lokomotiv Moscow in January 2007, appears to have finally settled with the Blues and has been a regular in the plans of Carlo Ancelotti.

Ivanovic, who has taken advantage of Jose Bosingwa's injuries, is reported to have caught the eye of Real and Chelsea are said to be prepared to offer a new four-year deal to block the Spaniards.

But the Serbia international has hinted that he could be interested in a move to the Bernabeu, where the hunt is on for a replacement for Pepe after he was ruled out for the season with a knee problem.

Ivanovic said in Politika: "I've had no contact with Real Madrid and my agent has contacted me in the past two days.

"If it is true that Real Madrid are interested in me, I'm flattered, because this club is a dream of every player. But I have not decided on a possible transfer."

Skysports

could be a ploy to get an extra 10k per week, but we do have to act fast on this

all he said there was that he's flattered madrid are interested in him, who wouldn't be? doesn't mean he will go there...chelsea certainly wouldn't sell him and as said, will give him a new deal instead

From google translator:

The pompous media announcement on the transfer of Bane Ivanovic from Chelsea to Real, it seems that the story ended for now,''Blue''is not so easily renounce Serbian national team, which will in future be one of the greatest athlete Carl AnÄelotija the defensive line.

Real''was also passed, the media wrote about it, I read and no I did not formally addressed. I am accustomed to this kind of media migration. I feel great, play in the Chelsea Standard and trying to fulfill what is expected of me. In the following period, until February, but we are Premier League head, because then if we continue at the head table, we will be very close to winning the title, which, however, won in May,''said Ivanovic.

Judging at least according to Ivanovic, very quickly to the first team Chelsea could be his vecapridruži and Nemanja Matic Nemanja Matic, a young Serbian player. Ivanovic impressed by what his younger team-mate at training shows.

Nemanja''is a phenomenal player and I am convinced that just 'explode' in next year. More delights me, from day to day. Such control of the ball, calm, idea, long seen. All praise and it should be expected to begin in January, but that gets more chances to express'', announces Ivanovic, who is praised and Slobodan Rajkovic, of whom expected to be in the right light show on the loan in the Netherlands.
