official...looked so happy at the ceremony...could barely talk! he really bleeds for chelsea...other awards tonight:

goal of the season: Belletti v spurs

Club award: Lamps for getting to 100 gls

Young player: given to whole FA Youth Cup Final team

Players Player: Riccy carvalho

Well pleased for Joey, if somewhat surprised.

Lets hope this inspires him to put in a memorable performance in Moscow.

Very very suprised, but well done Joe

What a fix.

2007/8 Chelsea POTY voting = ITV Ant and Dec !!

Scandalous that Ricky did not win it !!

only a major surprise cos he's been off form the last few weeks, but he was our best creative attacking player all season, has played more games than anyone else and played as big a part as any in our success...plus fact he is a crowd favourite it's understandable he's got the vote...riccy deserved it too, but I think the players knew joe got the vote from the fans cos they made sure he got their vote for players' player

Anybody know what percentage of the vote each player got?

Really happy for Joe, but it is a crying shame in my opinion that Riccy didn't get it. I don't think anybody came close to him this season for Player of the Year. Popularity contest, but at least he got recognized in some capacity. Shockingly underrated.

like I said, a few weeks ago no-one would have complained...I love riccy too, but he had his dodgy form too but it was a few months ago against barnsley and the two games v spurs etc...joe has had his now, but no losers really...we're all chelsea and the ceremony really showed the team spirit is alive and well and the excitement over moscow came across

more than the league

one more word on riccy...about his injury...didn't say anything, but he didn't seem to be in any pain or walking funny

Sorry but that result is a joke. Its not even Joe's best season for the club. Carvalho has been far better.

I thought you may comment on that Ethical

Very happy for Joey, and for me it is a very close call between Joey and Percy. Both have performed very well all season long, so it is tough to call for me

Yeah well joey i thought riccy would of getting it of the fans but im happy for joey lets hope he adds another 2 awards before the end of the season. fair play to frankie lampard to unreal amount of goals from midfield

but its not over the season is it? i thought it was for the whole of last year? and if thats the case then joey deserved it. it was a toss up between joey and ricci for me. happy whoever won it. well done joey.

Congrats Joe, but like others think Carvalho should of edged this one, oh well!

Can't go wrong with Joe anyway

I hope Joey Cole's not reading this site with some of the negative comments. Cole and Carv both picked up awards and I think that's fair. Congratulations to both of them, and thanks.

Congratulations to everyone that won an award, let's hope there's a few more to collect before the month's out!!!
