Josh Acheampong

This is what the loan system was supposed to be for though.

Let these young players gain experience and learn on the job in another clubs first team. Let them make their mistakes elsewhere and bring them back when ready.

We have players out on loan doing that but because of the make up of our squad we also have them doing it in our first team too.

It’s like our entire team, coaches too are all learning on the job.

"Josh is an amazing talent," Rosenior said in Monday's press conference when asked if Acheampong is a centre-back or a right-back.

"In the time I've been here, I've got to meet him and his parents, and you can see why he's such a great lad because he’s been brought up the right way.

"Josh has immense potential, and what I like to do with all of my defenders - especially at their age - is put them in different positions because it improves them, improves their understanding of the game and improves their positioning."'
Problem is Liam says everyone is top player or world class!!

Starting for England u21 v Andorra tonight. England 0-1 after 70 minutes!

Acheampong should be getting all of Trev's minutes while the latter is out injured.
Won’t happen. Just remembered the club sent out a media brief when they lost out on Jeremy Jacquet that they decided against signing him because of Josh.

“Chelsea will NOT sell Josh Acheampong to Liverpool or Real Madrid.”

Clubs have already started circling and he needs to hand in a transfer request.

Internal sources confirm strong interest from PL clubs: Bournemouth, Newcastle, Palace, West Ham, & Spurs. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are also monitoring the situation.

That's going to be an embarrassing defeat if that's how it stays !

Edit: Ah, game's finished 1-1. Injury time penalty equaliser. Embarrassment mitigated slightly ... LOL

Still not many minutes for Josh. Does make you wonder if we're wrapping him in cotton wool and looking to get best price in the summer. Can't see him starting against either City or United despite the injuries we have in defence.

Crazy right? Still don’t understand the lineup v a “League 2” Port Vale. Game was won at half time, but Rosenior chose to give him 5mins at the end of the game. He is the one player that needs to hand in a transfer request.

We’ve heard this story before.
Happy if he gets not only minutes but starts also.

Hopefully he’s in the gym over the summer as he was a bit lightweight last season I thought but he’s a very good player. Hopefully he kicks on next season.

Looking forward to his 2 minute cameos then when he's subbed on in the 90th minute.

They are taking us for mugs knowing that we will respond positively to this news. BlueCo and the 5 🤡 can get f**ked

It’s absolute insanity the likes of Fofana, Badiashille & Tosin were getting genuine competitive minutes ahead of him anyway. We’ve mishandled the poor lads development for the past 2 seasons.

Hopefully having an actual ex-baller in charge as opposed to the wet wipes we’ve been lumbered with as gaffers will see his genuine talent and not hold him back.

Levi, Josh, +1, Hato, Trev is a LOT LOT stronger than the Trev, Fofana, Tosin, Badiashille rotation we’ve been stuck with this season.

I'm willing to give Alonso the benefit of the doubt until he shows me he's just another BlueCo shill. Fingers crossed for proper minutes for Josh.

I'm glad, but PLAY him for gods sake. He needs to be prioritized immediately, or he will surely leave
I'm more interested in who is leaving that will get in his way. The Athletic is reporting that the club still value Tosin and don't want to sell.

Industry plant.

Sounds like Tosin will be taking Bettinelli's place as our third-choice keeper.

Still think they are better off selling the idea of a short term move to Palace; London Club, European football, Guehi needs to be replaced & Lacroix is on the move so he will get first team football, and they sell at £20m + include a £30m buyback clause + 20% sell on clause. He has been messed around since he was 18yrs, he is already 20yrs. 2 years of solid football at Palace is better than being 4th choice here.
