Ahh, still, they've got the money to attract any player who is only in it for money with 0 ambition.

PS - can see Ireland interest grow amongst the big clubs too.

I feel sorry for Sparky. A Chelsea fan as a kid and did us proud as a player. He is going to lose his job in the summer (more chance of Platini choosing bangers and mash as his favourite dish than Hughes being charge of City next season) and his stock is going to be pretty low. Best he can probably hope for is to get a job with a relegation battler or even a Championship side.

I suspect they will enter the Intertoto (if it still exists)

Im sure they they will attract some big names still, Europe or not.

Money talks you see, we should know that more than anyone.

I know that (it was my first sentence), but we were in Europe.

They'll get players, but not the special players that could threat to turn them into a great side.

I took no joy in seeing them crash out, but it is gonna be that much harder for them to attract the kind of talent they want. In fact, this is probably a good thing, because all they SHOULD be after is that younger, blossoming talent like De Jong and Kompany. IMO if Hughes is allowed to buy more like these and get rid of some of his Brazilians he can build a good side. Buys like Given, Bridge and Bellamy (well, maybe not the last one) are good starts, imo.

I hope Hughes doesnt get fired, but sadly, i can see it happening too.

I do think because Man City are out of Europe if it's down between Chelsea and Man City for a top player, that player should choose Chelsea cause he'll know we're challengers every year. Unless you're Robinho of course.

He could have stayed at Real? WE had Drogs mouthing off similar about wantaing away but he's still doing the business for us at the end of the day Robinho chose to sign for City and went for the bucks

g4 is right. he had no choice.

there was no way he couldve stayed madrid, he had put himself in such a predicament that he could never play for them again.

once city had matched our bid and we (quite correctly) pulled out he was on his own.

if it had been macclesfield he wouldve had to have gone.

i was gutted at first but as the season has progressed its been pretty clear we have dodged an expensive bullet.
