For those wishing to talk about Sarri, there is the Antonio Conte thread.
Overhauling an entire style of play from pragmatic to possession based high line/attack is very complex, 99.9% of the time the early stages either involves a lot of boring/cautious possession (Sarri here and this season at Juve) or a lot of games of pinball (us this season, Pep's first at City).Does anyone follow Serie A here? Watching Juve v Lecce; one of the worst teams in the league, and Lecce have had a player sent off. They are playing better than Juve, and have more shots on target than a Juve team at home.
I will never understand Sarriball & the keeping possession for possession sake. It is mental.
I think they will be trying to get Pep too. I can see him leaving City at the end of the year especially if there is no CL. I think he has just run his course there. He made similar comments to his comments after Barca lost to us in the CL in 2012 about the team lacking the drive to win again after so much success.Overhauling an entire style of play from pragmatic to possession based high line/attack is very complex, 99.9% of the time the early stages either involves a lot of boring/cautious possession (Sarri here and this season at Juve) or a lot of games of pinball (us this season, Pep's first at City).
I think Juve are ultimately preparing for Pep and Sarri's there to do the growing pain part of it so Pep doesn't have too.
Not sure. He can't be that old. I would never rule out him going back to Barca once they get their sh*t together. He might even be the guy they hire to be Sporting Director or President even.Didn’t Pep hint at the possibility of retiring after City? He said he has a very clear plan of the life span of his management career. I guess it’s whether he wants to try Italy or not.
I don't see him being that "brave". He left Barcelona while they had their best generation at the peak, he obviously didn't want to deal with any possible trouble in the future. Not sure. He is an hipsters manager. Will be interesting to see where next for him, that is probably the biggest job he will ever get. He is a Serie A & an Europa champion so not that bad.Lost Copa Italia and Supercup, couldn't pass Lyon in the knockouts. His tactics don't work. Rumors are that Pochettino is the new Juventus manager.

I for one wasnt excited by his management at all.. i was not happy that he jumped ship when he did either.. but this one is a little harsh.. and complacency by Juve. I think they will pay for this decision. they already have a pensioner's squad which they will struggle to move on. Add on a new manager will require more funds..He did win the league.
Like at Chelsea, would have loved to have seen what Sarri could have done in his second and third season.
But managers don't get time anymore, even if they win trophies!
I always felt like I could see something in sarri that others weren't prepared to see. That his "lack of a plan b" was deliberate. It was all about embedding plan a in the squad. I also believe it worked because our team are infinitely more comfortable on the ball this season than if Sarri hadn't been around last year.I for one wasnt excited by his management at all.. i was not happy that he jumped ship when he did either.. but this one is a little harsh.. and complacency by Juve. i actually think this is a fool hardy approach by Juve.. and this will bite them back.. Inter will take the league.. UCL is always a lottery.
