Morgan Rogers

Well that came out of nowhere. Here was me thinking we were in a bargain basement summer. Lot of money but I’d rather that than spend the equivalent on Garnacho and Gittens.

Depending on formation could solve the terrible left wing. Dont think he’s the Enzo replacement because Enzo is not and never will be a 10z

 
I'm half expecting that if we do end up flogging Gusto to Man City, that we'll see James Trafford coming the other way.

Trafford and we probably will sign Oscar Bob is a couple season to complete the set

 
Never really been impressed by him. When the news broke I was shocked, then after being reminded about City’s former youth team, and the Joe Shields links + the dodgy gentlemen’s agreement we have/had with Villa previously, so most likely they’ll sign Jackson or someone off us. Then it takes away the shock a little.

For that fee, you need someone who scores goals.. for which his record is poor. It’s really concerning, can’t see any balance in the squad, nor has this solved our key problems. God I hope he proves me wrong.

Well said. It’s a stupid fee, and you see why European clubs don’t get involved. At that fee you expect a world class player which he isn’t even close to.

 
I do like Rogers, but I also understand the concerns. If he was signed for £60-70m, I don't think people would be as worried, but £117m is a hell of a lot of money for one player. For that money, I want Palmer levels when he is at his best, and Rogers hasn't shown close to those levels yet.

I think above all, there better be a plan.

I don’t want to see Rogers hugging the touchline or he and Palmer get in the way of one another. Play to his strengths that also benefits everyone else.

There is this, as well as now we have shown we had this sort of money so the concern is have we blown all we have on one player when we need 2 quality center back additions, a top class keeper and a new top partner for Caicedo?

 
In isolation it’s a crazy fee. But looking at the market now, it’s almost the premier league norm (Anderson, Tonali, Mateus Fernandes). By our own standards, I prefer this to 50M plus on Gittens, Neto, Mudryk, plus the countless others we can throw into that conversation.

Premier league proven, good mentality, dynamic, physical player. Pretty sure a number are still to leave, so a smaller, focused, higher quality squad is good for me.

 
Great signing .. we needed goals.. Cole and him for 25-30 goals.. 15-20 for Jao.. rest of the team for another 15-20 — that’s top 4 done.

Completely Mugged…again, ridiculous fee for a player no better than Barkley/Drinkwater

Seriously.. Barkley was a talent but couldn’t keep fit.. everyone knew drink water wasn’t it..

Not worried about the fee .. they just sold Tielemens too .. I am sure we will see one of Jackson / delap / Garnacho go there - Elliot went back to pool too they have no attackers left.

 
Hopefully this signing kicks Neto out the team.

Hoping Rogers up his game for us
