A bigger test for our Luiz/Matic pivot ? like Citeh ? We've been there, done that, got the T-shirt.
Yes, but that was a bit different since we played with a midfield of 3.

Rambo usually plays, it took a suspension for Mourinho to play the Matic - Luiz pivot. There must be a reason for that.

I gave it to Matic. Once again he looks remarkably comfortable in an area we have struggled to properly fill ever since Makalele retired.  Good to see Luiz return from injury as well. I still feel here is a long term role for him as a holding midfielder and hope to see him paired with Matic more often.  Today's performance, if maintained,  may well see Ramires and, to a lesser extent, Willian struggle to reclaim their regular first team spots.

It's good that we now actually have options in the middle of the pitch. Jose now has a decision to make as 2 of our best displays this season were with Luiz and matic in the middle.

they played in the pivot away at city, ramires played wide right.

Voted for Matic. Because of this:

Matic is just destroying us. Hes doing a better job than Toure did against us

Matic absolutely overpowered us in the middle of the park, a bit like Yaya Toure did to us at the Etihad when we lost 6-3. We were totally bossed.

Schurrle for me, the more he plays the better he gets, give him more time and he will be a great asset to Chelsea.

He was placed on the right because of his energy. Our players deliberately left the right wing open for ramires to sprint into.

That's just utelizing his speed and energy

He put in a lot of defensive work as well. And if I hate to put a tag on his position I would still use midfielder instead of right winger.

fair enough mate. looked to me as if we lined up 4231 with matic and luuz in the double pivot. hazard on the left, ramires on the right and willian in middle.

Really hoping to more of that combo though!

Well i sort of agree, almost the same i guess. since ramires keeps running and is everywhere no matter what is position is.

I certainly hope that as well!

Schurrle was just excellent his movement was superb.

Willian still seems to be preferred, I've no idea why.

wrong dam thread.

Damn, difficult choice.  I went with Samuel Eto'o for getting the party started, and Petr Cech for his beautiful clean sheet.  A HUGE honorable mention goes to Dave. He drove Arsenal's midfield and front line insane.

Awesome performace all the way around. Went with Schurrle. I think Eto'o would've had another hat trick if he'd played even 60 minutes. Well done, Chelsea - made my week!

How quickly it gets forgotten when six goals go in how much Torres ran around, would probably have stayed at 2-0 without at that running.
