Cesar, what a solid signing for a decent price. Don't get many of those at CFC. Needs to stay in the team from here on in.

 
Mata changed the game when him and Oscar came on, but I have to give it to Cesar, as he provided some good natural width and also put in some decent crosses.

I also think he deserves a run in the team, as he looks more like a natural right back, compared to Ivan.

Must be a right-back thing when we consider the price we paid for Ivanovic as well :smile:

 
Mata was our best player by miles, even though he only came on as a second-half sub.

We are just a far inferior side without him, and he started creating almost instantly and started linking the play.

However I gave it to Sturridge, because it was just so refreshing to see a striker trying to get on the end of things and giving the likes of Mata an option ahead of them.

I hope he keeps the spot, until January at least.

Nonsense. At what did he excel? Lumbering about like a brick-man with glue on his shoes? Perhaps a bit harsh, but I have always maintained that his selection is only ever justified by the strength of those around him - players such as Cole, Terry, Alex, Ivanovic, (not Bosingwa), Lampard, Essien. Granted, his performances in the Champions League finals were prolific, but on those occasions his objectives were clear. When Chelsea go down early in the EPL he doesn't know how to respond because he only has one style of play.
