Mourinho out?

That's incorrect, as under Raneiri, we had Desailly who played just about every game. So JT and Gallas did not play that often together.
Not in Ranieri's last season they didn't. Also keep in mind, it was Ranieri who brought Terry into the first team after Vialli wanted to reject him in favour of a new signing.

i remember stating that even though we would win nothing under CR, he had built a solid foundation and a great team, and for that we would forever be thankful

Not sure if this has been discussed elsewhere...or if it is complete rubbish, but I thought I would post it here. With the proper article etiquette of course, loz :)

Guus being groomed for Chelsea job

LONDON: Guus Hiddink admits to a series of meetings with Roman Abramovich and Chelsea officials, amid speculation the ex-Socceroos manager is being groomed to take over management of the English Premier League champions.

I dont like him ... Essien is wrong deal that made Gud leave. And i dont like the way he plan for attacking ...

This year may be the last year of him at Chelsea.

I'd rather see Kenyon and RA go before JM.

Kenyon because he's dragged our brand down into the gutter as discussed on lots of other threads elsewhere.

RA because people use him and his dosh as an excuse to not give JM the credit he deserves. We can all name club after club that have thrown heaps of cash at the market, but few of them have had a manager who could bring it all together. Only Red Nose has ever managed it with any success.

If JM were hit by a bus tomorrow, he would still be judged ultimately by what he did at Porto, not CFC. The ignoranuses out there still believe we have a team that picks itself, motivates itself and selects its own strategy because we've got loads of dosh.

I dream of RA getting bored with us and leaving us solvent and in credit. The wage structure would be cut and the Gallas' of this world would leave us but what would be left? The best manager in the world and players who - above all - wanted to play for him and to win for him.

Now that would be exciting.

Having said all that, he is a petulant whingeing git who should either 'not do media' or take some lessons from Vialli on charm and quick!

I'd rather he didn't do media (well BBC for a start anyway - can't stand them).

Anyone see that Terry's stopped dealing with BBC unless it's Stubbs as Garth Crooks had a dig for not getting a private interview. JT declined as he'd then have to do the same for the 30 other reporters there - not good enough for Crooks.. proper whiny get.

whiny spud get

Though I am quite disenchanted with Mourinho for selling Eidur, amongst others, and dropping Bridgey for Cole whilst he is on amazing streak of form, his absence would not be that advantageous. It would mean he is managing someone else against us, and there are not a lot of managers out there better than him!

Though, if he had to go, Guus would be a decent replacement IMO.

Selling Eidur was a mistake if we are serious about playing the 4-3-3. But the sale of Duffer I think was the single biggest mistake.

Selling Eidur was a mistake when we bought Sheva, those two are practically made to play together.

But yes, I agree, selling Duffa was like a joke at first, I couldn't even believe it. Jose has a lot to make up for this season IMO.

Joe's Mourinho shall he stay or shall he go? is there a song in there somewhere!.Its a hard one this i'v been a fan for years through the bad times and good now its definitely the good times now!,but its the rest of the stuff that comes with it we are becoming the most hated club? which can't be good so i think he should go. You know what they say theres a fine line between genius and nutter, sometimes i wonder with Joe's Mourinho!

it really would not surprise me if he left at the end of this season, probably for Inter Milan, which is a team that he admires. I really dont want him to go but he doesnt seem to stick around at clubs even if he has brought them success. Who would you bring in to replace Mourinho??????????

If we can't get Luca, next best thing, Pauly

I am sticking with Guus Hiddink. He has the Midas touch...

Though I think Mourinho will be here until we win the Champions League for sure, and then some. For a few more years at least.

I am not sure how I feel about that. His work in the transfer market and player selection don't instill too much confidence sometimes.

However, he is a usually a brilliant tactician so no complaints really....

You'd replace the 44-year old Jose with the 60-year old journeyman Hiddink?

No, I wouldn't want to replace Jose at all... But if worse came to worst, I would choose Hiddink to be the manager. You can't deny that he has worked wonders with the teams he has managed. And since he is 66, it is okay that he moves on so quickly.

It will give Eidur or Terry a chance to want to stop playing and start managing

Edit: Hopefully it won't be for a whiiiiile then, because I want Eidur and Terry to have long and fruitful careers.

I guess I have to stick to my guns on this question.

When we were looking to appoint a manager (when CR was appointed) I was advocating one name and one name only.

Since then this question has come up a couple of times and I said the same name.

Since then a few 'things' have happened which would make him a very much less than popular choice.

Yes my choice was always Rijkaard.

However I would still be happy to see a surprise return for Ruudy!
