Newcastle United vs Chelsea (PL) Sun 11th May 12:00 GMT

I think that we can beat Utd and Forest. Can it be said the same for Villa and the Geordies? Villa have Spurs at home and Utd away (manure will want to end with a win at their turf) and the barcodes have Arsenal at the Emirates and Everton on good formation at home. I can see them getting 3 or 4 points each, but I think that we can get the 6 points.
Us, Forest, Villa are all capable of winning our final 2 games, though of course us and Forest both cannot.

What I am expecting to happen:

Chelsea - man united - score draw.

Villa - Spurs- Villa win.

West Ham - Forest - west ham win

Forest - Chelsea - score draw

Man United - Villa - score draw

Villa 5th, us 6th and Forest 7th.

We fail to beat United and any chance of Champs league is over in my opinion. Honestly given United's woeful league form, if we don't beat them then we probably don't deserve Champs League.

My thoughts exactly.

Fail to win Friday then I’m checked out. Deserve f**k all.

Plus it’s the game before Europa league final.

It genuinely would be embarassing if we don’t get all 3 points. Man Utd sitting in 16th, playing their 2nd string team to save players for the final… We have no excuses.

I picked a bad time to start looking in on the forum, seems our decision not to buy an experienced striker has cost us dearly, Jackson has potential but is back up quality for a team challenging for CL places and might have learned from a proper striker.

Not sure if the blame lies with the manager, scouting staff of the owners.

you would think Jackson would have known the importance here and at least not done anything stupid.
Excellent to see you posting @Chippy . Please stick around - you will make this place a little less nasty.

Much was being said about how Lavia is "press resistant and he "just does not give the ball away".

Was asking for trouble.

Yea but they will be prime class of 92 just for us maybe even rebuy rashford on a 1 game contract to score a wordlie into us then go back to being useless

Didn't get to watch the game today but by all accounts we were pretty poor again. This leaves me wondering why so many Chelsea fans want CL football next season. I love to see us being successful but ending up in a CL group with the likes of Bayern, Barca, Real PSG etc will just be humiliating. We're too dysfunctional atm. I'm sure many of our players are talented but they just don't seem to fit together. Europa League would be more our standard I think.

It’s one big group so not to worry. We also need the money that goes along with CL football.

Highlight of the day was Neto giving Palmer a lot of stick at half time.

I get the feeling most of the rest of the squad indulge Palmer. On form he’s our best player but he needs a reality check. 18 months of great form doesn’t give him the right to not try as hard as the rest of the team.

He was proper sh*te today

I've got a feeling the owners are looking to sell up, note no progress on the stadium.

If so don't expect any big signings, Jacko might go as I think the owners will be less than impressed with a sending off in an important match,

We have Tyrique George who is a winger and has been scoring, wasn't Thierry Henry originally a winger and how about Ronaldo.

Of course unfair to make that comparison so early yet no reason why he can't run the lanes as though he is a No.9 or play on the shoulder of the defenders.

Newcastle will probably drop points at the emirates.

And i don’t think that we deserve champions league or are ready for it.

They are 3 ahead with a plus 4 goal difference on us.

I would have looked at them and 3rd had we won but now I think that is done.

Agreed. I don't agree with the pl getting an extra spot for 5th during the season. Qualification should be determined before a game is played in the season, not during it.

Also don't agree with the Europa and conference league winner getting a spot in the competition above. Should be to come back and defend their trophy, unless they qualify through their league for better.

I think we’ll look back on that Jackson sending off as a textbook case of how to blow up your career at a football club. How does he come back from that? Really sad for the lad but what’s done is done.
Scoring the winner in the Conference League final will be enough for some, getting his head down and becoming a better and more mature footballer will do it for others. I don't have much belief that he will ever manage it though.

I'll try mate, good to see you still on here.

Let's make the shed end great again😃
Good to see you back @Chippy . Hope you are well mate.

Good to know you're still on here mate,

Health's pretty bad, I thought popping on here might cheer me up but looking at some of the threads I'm not so sure☺️

Without getting into too much details, we were pretty awful when Jackson was on the field. After he departed, we actually done well to hold them at bay, and created couple of real good chances. Eventually, the energy bar ran out and we conceded an unlucky second goal. But in hindsight, if Jackson didn't play and we had George or Sancho ( or the cleaner) to start, may get a point if not all 3 . This is one game I can't fault the rest of the team, and even Maresca ( apart from picking Jackson)
