Olympics - Once and For All

It's ridiculous how many swimming events there are compared to other sports. I mean that 17 year old Swimmer from USA has won 4 golds already in this olympics, 1 less than our top gold winner of all time... And it';s hardly a surprise that the top medal winner Phelps is a swimmer. It really should be a bit more balanced to give most sports the same sort of chances of winning medals.
I think they should let Sharks compete in all of the swimming events, its about the only thing that would make it remotely interesting.

I look forward to the 100m final and it seems like it's one of the big events during the olympics. It's therefore a shame that it is over in no time at all. People look forward to it for ages and then it's over in about 10 seconds.

Imagine it that was sex.

Only watched a bit of the tennis but f**k me, it looks like Murray is gooing to beat Federer in straight sets and win the gold!

Is Murray on drugs? Has Federer taken a bung? ('cos the last couple of games I reckon I would have a chance he's playing that badly).

Who cares. GO ANDY!!

The miserable old git is finally going to win one then.

Federer looks like he cant be arsed.

Chuffed for Murray, hope he can add to it later with Robson.

Medals for the Netherlands: Ranomi Kromowidjojo won her second gold of the games, after earlier winning the 100 meters freestyle, she claimed gold in the 50 meters freestyle yesterday. Marleen Veldhuis took bronze in her final swim of her career. Nice!

Holland's fourth gold went to Dorian van Rijsselberghe: in windsurfing no less!

So happy for Murray, watched it all and he deserved it.

Whens the 100m final?

After yesterdays narrow misses (9 thousands of a seconds away from a gold and one centimeter from bronze) it's nice that we finally won.
You (Sweden) are the ones who usually wins with some thousands of a second, so it was only fair ;)

Those Dutch names are doozies, Val. All those vowels and weird combination of letters (ijj).

For all of your Brits, has it always been the case that for the Olympics y'all compete as Great Britain, or just for this one?

It seems a bit weird for me that Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland compete as separate countries for the World Cup, but not for this Olympics.

Gutted for Robson but she's got a great future, hope Murray doesn't feel guilty that he's won a gold, strikes me as the sort of guy who would.

Bolt will win but this 100 final is going to be nuts. Hope Gay can make it 3/3 for Americans getting into the finals.

Bolt jogged that last 20/30m, insane, really hope he wins it.

I'm obviously pulling for one of the Americans to pull off the upset, but Bolt is insanely likeable.

Bolt, Blake and Powell from Jamaica, Gay, Gatlin, and Bailey from USA. Should be fun to watch.

Bolt Gold, Blake Silver, Gatlin Bronze is my prediction.

I honestly don't know how Bolt does it. How can someone carry themselves with so much cockiness and arrogance and still have everyone, including myself, like him? I really hope he wins, also well done Adam Gemili. He was with us as a youngster wasn't he?

Nice Mixed Doubles Final. I did not realize that Max Miryni is 35 years old. He is a beast.

I dislike him but I've a particular dislike of showboating in general. Plus I'm always deeply suspicious of sprinters.

Bolt, Blake, Gatlin, Gay, Powell, Bailey, Martina, Thompson

Would love to see a Jamaican 123 though.
