Has the forum suddenly dropped dead without someone telling me ?Twenty minutes since my las post and NO one cares to comment on a game we just had ? What the hell is going on ?

EDIT : And no MOTM poll yet ? Seriously, I want to know if there's anything wrong in the UK - is it coming towards Bulgaria ? An ion cloud or a debilitating plague maybe ?
I managed to see a whole 5 minutes of the game. Various reasons including lack of sleep, family problems (not a fatality but close), computer/network problems - nothing serious, just a defective RJ11 lead, but it was a pain til I realised what it was and changed it for another one.

But that's just me. I can't speak for anyone else, obviously.

Carefree, Lofty, I wasn't accusing anyone of anything  . It just seemed very odd that no one wrote anything.

I hope everything around your family works out all right for you and your relatives.

Something of a solid, if uninspiring and indifferent performance from us, coped well with Bolton's physical presence and when we went 2-0 up never looked like throwing the game away, i thought Petr Cech had a mixed game, great save from the Cahill header, midfield was solid today i thought, Ballack, Lamps and Mikel all played well with Deco playing wide

Oh I wasn't taking it personally, far from it! I'm as puzzled as yourself at the lack of activity here on a match day.

And everythign'll be fine thanks

Lampard played on the right today, a bit of a change for him with deco doing the business on he left.

Deco's passing mostly excellent tonight whereas Ballack is still missing a few although also hitting some beauties. Kalou really faded as the game went on and Boswinga stayed back a lot more in the second half. Both goals were excellent, although deco's shot was especially memorable. Some of Deco's passing is truly first class.

We shut up shop for the last 20 minutes and it could cost against better teams.

Can't argue with the defensive record this season so far even with Riccy out of the team for ages and Scolari has cut down the goals from corners. However we do sometimes have trouble playing the ball out from defense, at least in this game with too much sideways passing. When Mikel moves the ball forward 10 metres rather than sideways we look better.

Lampard and Ballack need to start getting among the goals.

Personally I like Ivanovic on the two full games I've seen from him, reliable and with a good long ball out of defence, I didn't think Alex brought anything extra to the team yesterday. Upfront we now have drogs back, at least until he gets injured again, and fitting him into the team and getting a good partnership with Anelka could be the key to home form and the remainder of the season.

Verdict. Worth getting up for, although if I'd gone back to bed at half time wouldn't have missed much.

No match chat = lack of activity on game day.

Still don't understand how the match chat can cause problems with the forum, but I am no techy, so I defer to Loz on that one.

To be fair, there were plenty of people who were on the forum (10-15 were in the match streaming thread alone) so if we can just encourage people to actively comment more often, it will be like match chat never really disappeared.

Of course, that presumes a high speed connection, a laptop, you might miss a few seconds, etc etc so to each his own. However, I love getting things from a different perspective on here, especially has half the time I have commentary in a different language.

Being that i saw about 30% of the game and no goals, I have few complaints other than the substitutions mockery. But the fact that we coped, once again, with so many out and that Deco scored (maybe now his confidence can get back up? Please lord) can only be good things. Anelka keeping up his impressive tally, too, is a good thing

And Ballack, even if I havent always impressed me with his play, has always shown heart. I feel like he would make a great alternative captain because he leads from the front.

scolari's policies? where have you been the last 5 years?
Ive been watching the same disaster with youth players, but in case you missed the last 5 months, we are a completely different team with a totally different outlook. Are you implying Scolari is being directed on who to play for however many minutes from the top down? And that it wasnt Jose's preference?

We have impressive young players. Maybe they are just actors who can never be thrown into game situations, but I have to wonder what Frank Arnesen thinks when he sees that the talent he has scouted out from all over England and beyond frittered away in favor of Paulo Ferreira

Tried watching first half on stream, frustrating. got to see about 5 min overall so limited to any judgement . Anything i got to see of the second half Bolton had the ball in our half and was worrying . Still a good away win and 3 points. Now were in the media spotlight again with this new away record and the knives will be out if we drop points , just watch.

well i'm happy with the 3 points

it was a far from brilliant performance and at times we were awful defensively, we seemed to panick every time the ball went into our goal area, we broke very well and had plenty of chances to get the 3rd but poor finishing

maybe 1 eye on cluj on tuesday, who knows but coming home from a tricky away game with 3 points is enough for me, regardless of how we played

I watched matchday live on Chelsea TV - it's the first time I've seen it and it was pretty entertaining. Think Soccer Saturday but just about Chelsea! Cundy and Langley were really in to it. Langley's reaction when Deco missed on his breakaway was hilarious.

I've watch the football first highlights now and it was a pretty decent performance. Good to see Deco playing further forward again and having a good match. I noticed that we seemed to play a 4-4-2 diamond with Kalou in behind Anelka which helped put more pressure on the Bolton defence. although he didn't score, Frank seemed to get in to some good positions as well.

I am presuming Alex played because of Bolton's aerial threat, Overall we contained it well. Cech was obviously under orders to come for everything which worked quite well but he did miss a few too.

All in all a good win - now on to the Bridge on Tuesday for Cluj.

Got to give Ballack his dues, he may not be on form, but nobody can doubt his commitment on the pitch, yesterday he put in the kind of performance you want from a player who is working his way back into the fold. He didnt go missing like some do.

Was at the game yesterday , courtesy of a friend with Bolton Hospitality connections - a great day, lots of free (cheap wine) If Davies had buried that chance before Anelka scored it couldve been a very different game. Luckily he didnt and it was a cakewalk.

I thought Anelka looked top draw, still unsure abvout him in the big game. But there is a lot of pressure on him to deliver goals at the moment and he is certainly delivering. Very hard to critize him.

A word on Cech - it was without any question the worst match i have seen him play for us in 5 years. His kicking was simply a joke.

Decos goal was great but that miss was embarrasing - if we are nil nil in a big game against a good team and he tries that again, he needs shooting. I'll volunteer.

also, anyone know what the deal is with Malouda ? Not even on the bench.

Was gutted when i saw that.

Some say he has lost his form. Perhaps he has gone to try and find it? He may never return......................
