Well done Roman, it was time to be told to our players that they were not good enough, time to ask them for performances, ENOUGH PERFORMANCES AND GOALS HAVE WE SCORED OFF THE FIELD. IT IS TIME TO PUT SOME DISCIPLINE BACK AND HARD WORK. TIME TO TELL THIS GUYS, START DELIVERING TROPHIES OF GET OUT. THIS GO FOR TERRY( WHOSE GOALS OFF THE FIELD HAVE DISTURBED THE TEAM),LAMPARD FOR NEARLY TWO SEASONS U ARE NOT THE PLAYER U WERE ONCE, BALLACK, ANELKA ( NIKO WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?), JOE COLE WHO SEEMS MORE INTERESTED ABOUT A PAY RISE RATHER THAN PLAYING FOOTBALL, DECO ( DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE HE IS?),ASHLEY COLE ( YOU CAN BE THE BEST LEFT BACK IN THE WORLD BUT U ARE AN IDIOT OUTSIDE, U SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOUR BEHAVIOUR), FOR TWO TIMES YOUR PERSONAL LIFE IS ON THE TABLOIDS, COME ASHLEY IS TIME TO PUT AN END TO THIS SITUATIONS, BAD FOR U AND FOR THE CLUB. IN GENERAL I FEEL IT IS GOOD TO HAVE A GO AT THE PLAYERS, THEY GET PAID VERY WELL, AND THE ONLY THING WE ASK IS PERFORMANCES AND GOOD BEHAVIOUR.

TIME FOR A CHANGE ROMAN, SOME OF THE PLAYERS MUST GO, i GIVE U A LIST:

-BELLETI, CARVALHO, BALLACK?,PAULO FERREIRA ( THANK YOU), HILARIO, DECO WELL I EXPECTED A LOT MORE, BUT U ARE NOT INTERESTED ABOUT FOOTBALL OR ABOUT THIS CLUB SO GET OUT, JOE COLE? WHO KNOWS IF HE ACCEPTS OUR CONTRACT STAY BUT NO WAY FOR 120 GRAND A WEEK.

- NOW PLAYERS WHO SHOULD STAY:

didier drogba, iva, alex, ashley cole depends on his mood, essien, mikel, malouda, Kalou??? depends, Cech, Turnbull, Terry, Lampard, Sturridge, Kakuta, Borini etc.

L Essien, stop using caps, it looks ridiculous and makes people not want to read your views as they are a pain on the eye.

The current state of the squad and selection of 1st team manage is Romans own doing. We had the best manager in the world and most sucessful in the clubs history until he wasn't backed and eventually sacked.

The current problems need hard work, not money thrown at them, which are the ethic's of THAT manager we let go!
I do appreciate the fact that your stance hasn't changed Bluenut and there's certainly some truth to what you're saying about Roman carrying at least some of the blame (I wouldn't put it all on him, it's never that simple) for the current state of the club.

However, speaking of hard work instead of throwing money at the problem I thought one of the biggest reasons of the split between Jose and Roman was the fact that your favorite manager demanded to continue throwing money at the problems( the "good and bad eggs" speech) while the owner refused to spend anymore and wanted "more hard work" from the squad we've already assembled.

Abramovich has made his share of mistakes but Jose was no saint you're trying to make him out to be.

Quite an accurate and balanced summary here

Our original problems began when we sacked him.......and not finding and replacement who could match him for sucess, and you cannot blame the state of the current squad at Jose's feet. Actually the problems began before he was sacked him, when Sheva was signed alledgedly against the managers wishes. Thats rocky road was paved by Roman and has been unbalanced ever since.

The egg's and omlettes was in regard to Sheva, playing in Jose's last game when we beat (Rosenburg - was it? not sure) and Sheva needed 20+ chances to find the net.

I think there is a fundamental difference between throwing money at a problem and not having a fit central defender to play at Anfield, and publically fail to back your manager. We currently have an ageing squad because Roman hasn't backed a manager with funds since Jose was sacked, one of the reason behind his departure, as you mention above.

Were Turnbull and Sturidge CA's signings? I very much doubt it! Zhirkov wasn't signed by CA, he was lined up by his international boss while temping here. Who is signing our players?

There's no point bollocking the current players, they were out witted and fairly beaten by the man Roman let go, not matter how much his ego is dented.

He is partly to blame for the current state of affairs at Stamford Bridge, and shouldn't be blaming it on the ageing squad he has helped create! Just check the pre-season 'clear-out' threads for the past few seasons, it's not as though it's an overnight phenomenon.

And what happened after Jose left? We went the furthest ever in the CL under a new manager, Avram Grant. A new manager who also went undefeated at home, who replicated the 2nd place league finish Mourinho had acheived the prior season, who only signed 3 players, one of whomis out on loan, the other 2 are Anelka (last years leading scorer, and a beast at times ths season) and Ivanovich....so a better transfer record in regards to getting value for your money....

Now whats so special about that?

And what was it we won again?

Roman has not backed other managers finiancially as he did Mourinho, that to me is the only real difference in most other manager we've had since. Grant and Hiddink could easily do what Mourinho did with what Mourinho got, hell they almost did while not getting that same abcking....

Mourinho is an exceptional manager, but he is not the only one.

And what was it we won again?
The FA cup and a CL Finals we were 1 slip away from winning.

Much betetr than the league cup Mourinho only managed to win the prior season...again with more backing and a team styled in his making......

If you want wins and care about nothing else, and have a big budget, then Jose is your man.

If you want to build a stable club with a great future.....well I fail to see 1 thing Mourinho did to help acheive that.

I dont even think he knows clubs have youth academies.

Grant picked up the pieces when Jose was sacked. He lost the league cup final, came runner-up in the league and lost the CL final with Jose's team. I think we'd have won at least one of those competitions if Jose was in charge, nothing to prove it of course, I'm using just his previous records in finals for us as a reference.

Fair point - I mean who can forget the hundreds of millions of pounds Jose had to spend before Porto won the UEFA Cup, then the Champions league.

He only won the CL because of Claudio's errors

Fair enough.

But who knows what Grant could of acheived had he gotten another season?

I mean, if he can do all that with someone elses squad, what makes us think he couldnt do even better if he had time to make it his own?

I dont think Jose is the end all be all.

As stated in another thead, clubs like RM would consider what he acheived to be the bare minimum considering the resources he had available.

Had it not been so long since we had won the league before Moruinho, we probably wouldnt consider him to be so great.

I think we fail to put in perspective that as much as Jose has done great things for our club, our club has done great things for him.

Went from being "the interpreter" to being "the special one".

Again you omit his success at Porto.

He went from being a Portuguese championship, champions league winner and UEFA cup winner to a Premiership winner.

I have been critical Jose in the past and also backed grant however trying to claim Jose is anything but a highly successful manager or that he was nothing much before he joined us and got a big budget to spend is simply rewriting history to suit your argument.

Since Mourinho's left we've signed

Jose Bosingwa - around 15 million pounds

Branislav Ivanovic - over 10 million pounds

Yuri Zhirkov - I think 17 million pounds

Deco - 8 million pounds

Daniel Sturridge - not sure, like 5 million with all the extras if he gets international caps

Nicolas Anelka - over 15 million pounds

More importantly, we've made financial losses of over 50 million pounds each and every season which Roman has had to get out from his own pocket.

Yes we need to support the manager more, but I think thats gotta be the backing of authority and time, not financial.

In hindsight, did sacking JM take the club in the new direction they said they wanted to go in?

Not in my opinion, we have slowly gone from ruthless winners to also rans! - Not quite this season, but we have some tough away games to get through before we win anything, and must beat Manu at Old Trafford to stand any chance in the league!

All I'm saying is we haven't won a title since Jose left, he is about to win his 2nd. He hasn't lost a home game in the league for almost 6 years, we have lost several, his side looked focused and organised on Tuesday, his old one didn't.

We had a winner and let him walk - who's fault was that? That is all I'm saying.

Loz,

Porto FC was winning those before Jose, and have since he left. You fail to forget he Porto has 24 title wins in their history, they are the Man U/Liverpool of Portugal.

Ive stated Jose is a tactical genius, but I also stated he has done NOTHING to ever setup a club for the future, aside from expensive signings.

I would love for you to show me Jose take a nothing team and make them great, or even a improvement like Alex McLEigh has at Birmingham

Jose has not.

He went from porto, to chelsea, to inter

from powerhouse, to emergeing powerhouse with huge budget, to current powerhouse with big budget.

He has never taken a club from mediocrity to success, he has only taken existing power houses and maintained the status qou, or improved an already emerging club through massive investments.
