Saul Niguez

It's a bit like when we signed Falcao on loan. 

He hadn't played well for a couple of years and his injury record was terrible but we went ahead and signed him anyway, presumably in the hope he would recapture his old form. 

It was widely reported that Saul's quality had massively dipped in the last two seasons but we took him on anyway, letting the sublimely talented Billy Gilmour leave on loan in the process. 

We've ended up with the inferior playing presumably paying a substantial amount in wages each week for him to be contributing less than what I would expect from a young lad plucked from the accademy.

If this data is true, then you can certainly see why Rudiger, Christensen are standing their ground.

We are allegedly paying Saul £1M a year MORE than Rudi and Andreas COMBINED !!!

So many of the contracts that the club have "negotiated" here are absolutely ridiculous money ... no wonder the players have all the power these days ...

Anyway send Saul back January 1st, pay the money for Tchouameni or Rice or there is no title this season, and thats not down to having bad players, its down to Kante's fitness. He has started less than half of matches available under Tuchel. We are a different team without him, and we are not recognizable with 2 or Kante, Jorginho, and Kovacic is missing.

Saul was done nothing to fill the void we all knew was there over the summer. In hindsight it wasnt great from whoever didnt get the tight player in.

No chance of getting someone like Rice in January. If there is a possibility to bring back Gilmour it's a no brainer.

This is irrelevant. He’s on loan, we have to pay him his Atletico wage or an agreed % of it with them covering the rest. His salary is under their wage structure, not ours.

Gavi has a 50m Euro buyout clause only, Barcelona are in financial problems and they missed out on the CL knockout phase for the first time in ages but they want to somehow extend his contract and increase his buyout clause. Of course he at this point in time doesn't want to leave Barcelona but 50m for such a talent is a bargain.

 
He makes Cuadrado look like he was a good signing.

He's so bad.

Just pack him back off to Madrid and be done with it and put us all out of our misery.

 
Most frustrating player to ever wear a Chelsea shirt in recent years. Ever game he plays he makes a mistake that costs the team. At this point he shouldn't even make the bench.

Why are we the mugs that keep getting lumped with players like this?

Here's an idea, stop bringing in players that are a busted flush and actually put some faith in the young players that will bust a gut to make it at this club.

Because we felt obliged to back a major trophy winning manager just like we did with Conte.

The two aren't linear, Tuchel is a fantastic coach who I still feel will be a major success here but his record in the market is a shambles.

Colwill, Maatsen, Gilmour, Gallagher, Broja would be very welcome options right now instead of Azpilicueta, Alonso, Saul, RLC and Pulisic. I'd start Broja ahead of our two hapless Germans as well. Livramento on the right wing in place of Ziyech wouldn't be noticeably worse either.

I also wonder why Lewis Baker isn't featuring on the bench ? Got given a shirt number for the season and no sign of him since. He is a much better player than Saul !!!

 
Seeing the goal again just makes me want to kick his nuts. 

Surely you can't be that incompetent to not be at 100% concentration as a 2nd half sub.
