ahem.... this is a thread about houseboats..

also- madrid march into the semi finals of the champions league with a 2-2 away draw VANQUISHING of chelsea football club. Rumours are Cavezza will take Mourinho's job. Barcelona have fallen 7 points behind leaders valencia despite spending 60 million pounds in the summer.

I spent from 12midnight till 5 am basically considering a nice, interesting film to discuss. I then thought, sod it, made that legendary flask of expresso (I feel very very sick) and wrote about the matrix, which you can twist to look like anything. it's. just. an. action. film. didn't stop me from pretnding that it supported marxism and attacked the feminist movement, while being an altogether "spiritual event".
hehe, I got a question for ya?

have you seen V for Vendetta?

what would you say it was about? (apart from the obvious thing about opression)

good film, despite the far too alliterative opening speech from "V". natalie portman is a good actress, but that was a terrible accent.

I only saw it the once in the cinema, and don't recall any other messages apart from the obvious ones. you can look for any subtext in a film (and other art) and if you believe it's there, you will automatically see everything to support that. I remember talking about the lion king in a group about 5 years ago and a guy was convinced it was about the feeling of discontent amongst black people in america at the time- the message being along the lines of "wait- your time will come".

but to paraphrase garth marenghi, "subtext is for cowards".

g3- (demoted) are you around monday during the day? I am!

Ex-Champions Barcelona will be horrified at their decision to sack Frank Rijkaard in the summer and replace him with Gordon Hipwood- who has guided his club to an embarrassing champions league quarter final exit to lowly PSV Eidenhoven, and to second place in Spain's La Liga. The man? who will be remembered in Barcelona's history books as he who signed Klose and played long ball football with the best squad in Europe, no, the world, is surely set for a "mutual exit" at the end of the season out of shame. Truly, a pathetic effort from a man of questionable sexuality.

Meanwhile, the extremely virile and industrious Cavezza has overcome a bruised and battered squad and lead his side within an inch of the European Champions League Final in his first season as Madrid manager. His task was difficult with a team that looked more like a pack poorly trained monkeys than a football squad, but the man who will surely be remembered as giant underpants del Madrid, is surely on the edge of greatness.

Yours Faithfully,

ps. have time to finish the season today or friday? p

**Heroic Madrid march into Champions League Final with genius 0-0 home draw in Semi**

Cavezza- it's the name on every spanish woman's lips- such is the excitement when he dances up and down the touchline in his favorite suit. After being written off by several ignorant fools Madrid are now everybody's favorite to win the Cup of Cups- f**k you Valencia!

finally some good news for pauly, he's heroically steered lowly real madrid to fourth place in a CL spot, with only valencia, barcelona* and real zaragoza finishing ahead of them.

* barcelona finished only 14 points ahead of madrid.

a fantastic achievement, may I be the first to offer my sincere congratulations on this memorable season- even as barcelona manager I can tell quality when i see it, and will pre-order the club dvd so as to avoid missing out on that future best seller.

and, if you thought no trophies were lifted at the santiago bernabeu this season, you would be WRONG!

yes, the spanish cup final was played there, and of course, zaragoza succumbed to barcelona 2-0.

so, a final trophy count.

real madrid 0

barcelona 3

thank you, and goodnight.

fairly pathetic season all around- though i'm not so disappointed considering it was my first season with FM07 and the ageing Madrid squad is not really within 3 or 4 world class signings of a league challenge. We deserved to win the final, had all the chances and the bayern villains wasted time. 4th place in the league is no crime considering the injury crisis we had from october to december and I would say Barcelona's season with one trophy- the spanish cup, with that initial squad plus 60 million pounds... was very disappointing from an FM07 veteran.

personally i think with that squad and 60 million i would have been undefeated.
