No NOT just for Hallelujah - for Last Goodbye, for Lilac Wine, for So Real - for every track!

But for me, if I had to choose one then it's All Mod Cons. There is no other album where EVERY song is as good as the next - normally even great albums have at least one track that isn't as strong as the others. To think Weller was only 20 at the time - simply brilliant.

I know this does not have the depth of a lot of the other albums posted here, and has been demoted to the status of 'lounge' music by many w**ky cafes, but the truth is for years and years now I've been putting this one on when I feel down and I still haven't exhausted its grooves.

Agree, love the whole album, gave Hallelujah as an example if anyone on this forum has not heard the album.

You are a man of excellent good taste, which exactly coincides with mine.

You're welcome, Quizgod. What a superb name! Wish I'd given more thought to mine. I think I'll pretend it stands for Mother Of Invention!

Got the nickname from being good at pub quizzes.

Have a mind full of useless/obscure information.

You must just both come from good gene pools!

Gotta agree the album is mint, especially side 1 ,never far from the ipod for a quick listen.

Neither name nor lyrics of 'English Rose' were printed on the original vinyl release of 'All Mod Cons' due to Weller finding it too personal

It was out before I was born and I didn't discover it until I was in my teens but this for me, is the greatest album ever made:

Guns_N

Guns N' Roses - Appetite For Destruction

It's an excellent record, but there's a personal reason that puts it above every other record I own that has nothing to do with the music, but everything to do with the release date of the album. I bought it the day it was released on my way home from school. My dad had was at the hospital where he often had to go to get treatement for his cancer. I was listening to this record when I was told the news that this time my dad wasn't going to make it. It was in the evening that same day that he passed away.

I know theyr'e not everyone's cup of tea, but I have never been blown away by an album as much as this one.

Wow Maks, that is some pretty heavy association to an album! Sorry to hear for your loss

I blame my father for this one

I just love The Logical Song, and can listen it over and over again. So Breakfast in America from Supertramp for me. But it's hard to pick just one, and I have some classics from Metallica, Cream, Rush and many others in my collection.
